Ethic Mongolian here, know nothing about the lyrics, however every time I listen to this piece and close my eyes, I felt I was back to the ages of great Khans and warriors, riding next to my ancestors, and an army of clans and entire proud old tribe of ours, weathering the snowstorm from Lake Baikal, marching to our unknown destiny, silently.

Einhendr asa Tveim ek nemnar Tiwar Teiva! 5:14 goosebumps!!
@ZurashiduАй бұрын
Any idea what that translates to?
@tivar732624 күн бұрын
@@Zurashidu@Zurashidu Certainly no native speaker, we'll just say im a student of old norse and leave it there. But, simply put - Einhandr ása, tveim ek nemnar tiwar! teiva! "One-handed god" - (specifically ása, so as in of the æsir) "twice I name (you)" (then the following two words are names synonymous for the deity Týr in ancestor languages to old norse and later icelandic, but different from the rest of the song, as kennings of sorts) Tiwar - "(the æsir god) Týr" - A proto-norse rendition of the name of the deity. Or, alternatively, actually the word "týr" (which is alongside a name also a categorical term refering to deities broadly in the language - so lit. "a deity") but in its plural form, so instead meaning "gods", or "deities" and then: Teiva - also "(the æsir god) Týr" a proto-germanic (i think?) word taken from the Negau helmet. Potentially the progenitor word of Tiwaz, Tiwar and the other formations of the deities name in other descendant languages, including old norse and icelandic Týr nonetheless, putting aside Einar's killer vocals in this performance, and really just everyones spectacular job in general, if you understand the words and their context within the song itself, hearing Einar strike those vocals with that amount of heart - it is like the comment on top said, chills the whole ride.

@@tivar7326one thing I want to add, which empowers the whole verse even more. Tveim ek nemnar - taken from Sigrdrifumal that states if you want victory, you should name Tyr twice. Also, Einhendr Asa is from the Norwegian runic poem. Every line is taken from a historical or archaeological source.
