I would love to see if we as a community could set up a real life event somewhere where people could battle, trade and hangout with people and their gen 3/4 games

It was my first game too! I think i was 6 when i got it for christmas. That would be awesome...! Well step 1 of that is to first find people with the shared interest, which this channel appears to be doing. The next step would be to try and create an event. These videos are so relaxing and cozy feeling I love it!! I played these games SO many times as a kid but I never kept going with one save file like this. Thank you for helping me appreciate the depth these games have to offer. I never knew howto EV train or anything like that. But the way you talk about it makes me want to learn more and try some of this out for myself. Now that I'm older I think I can appreciate this whole new side to pokemon! I ordered a modded GBA with an IPS screen and I'm super excited to play through FireRed and Emerald again on it :)

Hello friend, how are you? It's such a joy to see another one of your videos; I always look forward to them. One of the main reasons I enjoy your content is the cozy atmosphere you create-the music, the editing... it just connects me with my 13-year-old self who used to play Pokémon Emerald. I'm 32 now... I've always loved Pokémon, ever since I was 5 or 6 years old. It's amazing how even as an adult, the entire franchise still captivates me. I wanted to mention that the internet is like that; there are niches for everything, it's truly limitless, and here you'll find whatever you desire. Like you, there must be thousands or millions of people still playing old games or wanting to return to them but feeling a bit lost. In my case, with games that are over 15 years old, one starts to feel a bit old, haha. Although I've played ALL the Pokémon games up to S/V, I realize that the third generation is different. For example, the combat strategies, the movesets, even the natures-I've never seen a Modest Larvitar, it's always Adamant or Jolly or a mixed sweeper due to Tyranitar's base attack. Choosing Modest, was that your strategy? I think all of mine have always been Adamant; maybe I should try something else, haha. On another note, I wanted to tell you to keep making videos if it brings you joy. I'll always watch them, and I'm sure thousands of others will too. Currently, I'm playing Pokémon Unbound, a ROM hack based on the GBA games, but with a completely new story, and the game itself is very well done. I highly recommend playing it when you can on an emulator. To give you an idea, it feels like a completely new game and is really good with graphics reminiscent of Pokémon Emerald/Fire Red. Lastly, congratulations on your efforts, and I hope you win all your battles. The Battle Factory is super fun; did you know that each enemy Pokémon always has 4 models with 4 different movesets? So you can guess which one it is and get ahead a step. There are guides on the internet for that. anyway, I will play pokemon Emerald again from 0 so any guides you can upload for EV trainnnig and how to find items would be wonderful or maybe how to evolve pokemon in game on emulator? like haunter to gastly or kadabra to alakazam.. i know its possible but idk how (on emulator). Lasytly please record when you are battling the frontier with your team! I want to see your team into action ! cheers Greetings from Australia ♥ (even though I'm Argentinean)

love to hear the videos resonate with you! Thanks for your continuous support and comments. The modest TTAR might be dumbb... but i wanted a tyranitar with a cool moveset. IDK we will see how it does haha. I dont recommend it yet. Yes I intend on only making videos I do enjoy. I have went down many rabbit holes in the past on making content i somewhat enjoyed and eventually those channels failed. This channel is what I have learned about video making and myself over many years! I do enjoy making these videos a lot. Even more exciting that others watch them! For the battle factory, I did see there is an excel sheet and guide. I think i need to use that soon if i want to get far! Its a lot to take in without a guide like that. Very challenging still with it. I can do some more emerald guides. I just gota plan the videos and stuff! I do intend on playing through and emerald game again. I bought another copy! I will do some real time battle frontier videos soon! Yes it would be nice to show you all the team in action! I need to work on my decision making and practice with the team.

With how many games there are out there and how dirt cheap they can be, it's so easily to get lost in the cycle of beating a game and then moving on to the next one, so I think it's refreshing to see someone who wants to dedicate 100 or 200+ hours to a single playthrough of a game and get the most out of it. Pokémon games are perfect for that. Me personally, I'm trying to cut back heavily on what I buy - just only buying and playing those games from the IPs that I know I really enjoy and then putting more time into them. My goal is to just consume it all at a good pace, rather than just eating the main piece of meat and skipping the sides, and I feel these videos highlight this mentality perfectly!

love the videos man, and the vibes. i appreciate when youtubers aren't constantly yelling or trying to be some high energy character lol. your vids are calm and laid back. one tip i'd like to pass along is that if you hatch a particular baby that you're feeling good about potentially being "the one", you should rare candy it up to a higher level (around 60+) and then plug its stats into an iv calculator (i like to use "pycosites"). just remember to save before you start the candying process and then just reset afterwards. i noticed in a previous video you had a ton of candies already so should be easy. i think with this process you could cut the old man junk out entirely, or use him just to solidify your choice. might sound confusing or time consuming but once u get in the swing of it, i don't think you'll ever look back.

Curious your rationale for a special trar? It's coverage is excellent but you've wasted it's insane base attack stat and you've not boosting moves and only stab on the weakest move. I'd say mixed or. Dragon dance ttar are more consistent. Also sub punch ttar is also good if you have the skill to time it perfectly. I hope you enjoy using this build and good luck with your challenge, however I'd recommend doing another build perhaps with one of your other baby larvitar.
@nostalgicnighthawk7 ай бұрын
Agreed the Ttar is weirrdd. I originally got the idea in some form from years ago that its got some solid special attacking moves with a decent special attack. Yes its special attack isnt as good as its attack, but it still is pretty good. Ttar is also pretty bulky and can take a few hits. Sandstream ability is also nice in many instances. With all those things taken into consideration, a semibulky special attacking Ttar seems to be something worth testing out! We will see how it preforms. Right now its good, however I have only gotten to high rounds in the Dome/Tower a few times with Ttar. Only then is when its put to the test!
@lkay447 ай бұрын
@@nostalgicnighthawk yeah, it's definitely an interesting option, I would say salamanca is perhaps slightly better at the special or mixed set due to it's higher base 110 special attack and intimidate is also handy. Your ttar will be solid but I think due to lacking stab it might fail to OHKO enough mons which will 2hko it iback due to mid speed. Although it's biggest issue is getting walled by blissey, calm mind suicuine and my mortal tower enemy snorlax. There's so little decent fighting options and curselax with rest or double team pop up a lot in the 30-40 and beyond. That's why I run ddance, brick break on my ttar but I recently bred a heracross which will hopefully be a good option. There's no right or wrong answer but for me personally the stall troll mons of the frontier usually need brute force or boosting moves to overcome

@@lkay44 Salamence would have been a more ideal option TBH. I do like Salamence but mannn its so weak to ice and cant take any hits. With your second point about Ttar, I am finding that to be correct. Slow speed usually kills it in 2-3 hits and I only get 1-2 off sometimes not even doing enough dmg. I do have salamence to deal with the beefy normal types, however it is not the most consistent. I want to train a steelix soon with explosion and roar to deal with those annoying tanks. I need to stop training pokemons for now tho and challenge the trainers haha.

@@nostalgicnighthawk I get you man! Good luck. I've personally only managed 2 gold symbols (with silver in all other facilities) in the factory and dome. I think the done is definitely the easiest due to you having an opportunity to see the opponents mons. Factory is quite luck based, however, there is a glitch where the further you progress the better the mons are supposed to be (better IVs) but the unbeaten streak is actually taken from the frontier. So if you get a half decent run (say 30+) in the frontier, your starter 6 rental mons will have better IVs than the opponents, however you swap you'll get lower iv mins, so it's hit or miss but can be used you get 2/3 good rentals at the start. I'm curious, why do you use a special Tyranitar, when it's physical attack is so much better, and it's physical moveset is also pretty good? On a sidenote, I have been playing a lot of emerald and battlefrontier lately, and spending a lot of time on teambuilding! I have access to pokemon colosseum on gamecube, so I have been able to get a good Suicune from there, and I have used a team of Latios, Suicune and Steelix. It was a very strong team and it carried me pretty easily to 100 wins in the tower, but it didn't really feel like an achievment with such an OP team. So now I'm starting a new project where the ultimate goal is to get 100 wins with a "mediocre" team. I have decided to go for Politoed, since it's one of my favorites, and I also want to try and use Entei, as it's generally looked upon as weak, and by far the worst of its trio. Lastly I'm using Meganium to finish of the Fire, Water and Grass core, which is also a pokemon most people don't consider using for battling. It's probably going to be really hard, and will probably take a few attempts, but hopefully I can pull it off with some good strategies and good planning a head! I enjoyed the video as always!

Short answer is its COOL and the move coverage is diverse. I also already had Salamence and Aggron as a physical attacker so I wanted a special one. Might not be the best idea I had but it seems fun enough to try for a little bit. I want to train an Explosion steelix badly. I gota stay focused right now on the team I already built. But steelix seems like a good one for a team! Next pokemon I train will be that. Jeez 100 wins! That new challenge seems like it will be hard but difficult but rewarding. Keep me posted on how that is going. Best of luck!

Im selling off my entire pokemon collection since I’ve homebrewed 3 3DSs and bought a DS and a GBA flash card. Modded 6 gameboys so I have a few nice options. I just finished my pokedex in emerald and starting to grind for EV to crush the battle frontier :) Love love love your vids so much!

@@nostalgicnighthawk yeah, and im modding more, waitikg for new screens. Yeah if u homebrew a 3ds you can have all ds and 3ds games downloaded, with no diefference than playing on a cartridge. Same with the ez flash omega flashcart - can play all gameboy games from it - so im selling my entrie collection since its worth alot atm :)

@@thommasae modding more! You must be a pro. Any tips on modding a SP yourself? I want to do another soon for fun however my first experience was rough. I see pretty neat!
@thommasae7 ай бұрын
@@nostalgicnighthawk my tip for modding a SP is to buy double sided sticky tape/film and enough insulation for the screen to sit firm in the housing. Always test the shoulderbuttons and definetly buy a new battery. Alot of aftermarket membranes are thin so use original ones so your buttons dont rattle. I’ve got 5 modded SPs myself and soldering the brightness function was a breeze, be patient with your iron tho, let it get really really warm. That being said I’ve moves on to regular advances now, I like the design much more and its much easier to install the USB C charging mod. With the v5 hispeededo screen its soooo much easier than modding a SP. And the aftermarket shells for the advances are better qualiy so i recommend a normal advance over a SP. :)

@@thommasae I never actually had a normal advance so maybe I will get one of those! Thanks for the tips!

I'm breeding a beldum atm. I hatched an outstanding one with 31 in attack and speed, but I'm still hoping for a three IV adamant one. Not sure how much longer that is going to take. I think I'm 12 hours in maybe? Anyway, what is that Smogon article you are referring to when you checked the lvl 5 stats?
@nostalgicnighthawk7 ай бұрын
WOW nice! What nature? I will link it in this comment. It gives a table of what a pokemons stats are at lvl 5 and gives an idea if the IVs are high or low. Not really the best table but gives a quick estimate. www.smogon.com/ingame/guides/breeding_guide_part2
@smigget34157 ай бұрын
@@nostalgicnighthawk it is adamant. I decided to go with the two-IV one like you did. I hatched only one three IV in maybe 300 eggs and it was a bad nature. Now I want to breed something else. Catching a lot of dittos atm. Thanks for the link!
@nostalgicnighthawk7 ай бұрын
@@smigget3415 I think breeding that one is good enough. 3-4 IVs starts to take a whilleee.

I was wondering, do you know how much evs and ivs do the legendary pokemon have when you catch them. I still love playing Pokemon Leaf Green even today, 2024.
@nostalgicnighthawk7 ай бұрын
The IVs you can check the same way with any other pokemon in the battle frontier in emerald. However the only way to be 100% is to put the pokemon on your computer and run it through a program. The EVs will be zero! Just like catching any other pokemango. So you can EV train it just like other pokemon. Love to hear you still play the games!

@nostalgicnighthawk Do you know if serious is a good nature? Because I don't want my pokemon, other stats decrease and just want them to gain all evenly as they level up.
@nostalgicnighthawk7 ай бұрын
@@KengieChango the nature will depend on what you want out of the pokemon! If you want them evenly then a neutral nature seems to be the best for you. Typically a nature that decreases attack or special attack is ideal since most of the time you dont need a pokemon with both. However again its your pokemon so train how you want them! Hope that helps.
