Even at 18 years old my retired racer Thoroughbred see's a track, or sees horses galloping and gets SO happy and excited, he LIVES for this, he goes from a couch potato to ears pricked, hot on his tip toes and snorting, I have to physically hold him back in case he decides to take off! Only wish he could do it again, but alas at his older age it would be bad on his joints in the long term, but what's a gallop or two and a bit of Cross Country every now and again for old times sake eh? Nothing like a Tb that truly loves to run, it's the most beautiful sight seeing them so happy and alive. I love these animals with all my heart

vasilisa lisa wtf are you on? Bitch when it was wars did you actually expect ppl going all gentle on their horses sipping t and being like “GOOD BOY TAKE YOUR TIME” No that shit is stupid! Horses were meant to run hundreds and thousands of miles its HOW the people trained them to become one other than that it’s a sport that horses love
@kennablack79495 жыл бұрын
It sounds more like your horse has anxiety about race tracks, this is where he got whipped, trying to outrun the man on his back, surrounded by other horses trying their damn best to do the same, they tie racehorses tongues to their jaws because the jockeys need to balance all of their weight on the reins so stay in position, cant you see how this would be stressful? They're sinuses bleed because in order to breathe properly at this rate of movement they need to be able to seal their lips completely shut, but the bit is breaking that barrier and putting immense strain on the sinus. This entire process seems beyond stressful for any horse, especially a young one. There are horses who genuinely love to run, but I highly doubt any horse loves this situation, its terrible
@younicekeepgoing90625 жыл бұрын
@@kennablack7949 Wow. Uneducated af. Didn't you read the comment, or even the top comment on this youtube channel?? Not all race horses are treated like that, and horses were always meant to run far, and for a long time in the wild. And it's not hard balancing on in those stirrups since it's a long bane and quick turns. You think this is cruel, but what about showjumping? At least horses weren't meant to jump in the wild. Also. He said the ears are pinned to the race track, and he has to hold the horse back for it not to run off with him, that sounds more like a horse that's happy to do what's it's bred to do, more than a horse with anxiety. (Uncultered swine -.-)

The whip IS a sound, they hit their wellingtons to make that CRACK noise, it is unethical to hit the horse it only happens in movies and if that does happen that's quite shameful. I was a horse rider for 17 years and for 10 worked as professional, also in racing industry. It is true that those horses have balanced training and they receive much care from their owners in many aspects > those are animals which humans use for their own purposes. If they would have a voice, they definitely would not choose to be ridden. They would not choose to live in sport horse facility with all the conveniences instead of just living on the field. I saw really many stables, owners, trainers in whole Europe in many disciplines. I started to ride when I was 10yo and it was the only one occupation in my life, I was earning huge salary as a dressage rider. But slowly I started to realize it is not how I wanted to be with horses, not how I wanted to embrace and praise their beauty. It was the hardest decision in my life but I gave up on riding. My family and friends said I am crazy, I also appeared as 28yo unemployed girl with no other proffesion. But it is already more than 1 year as I am not riding and I am so satisfied with choice I made. There is no excuse for humans - we use horses under saddle just for our egotic reasons. Times when we needed to ride them to survive are gone, so people WAKE UP.

No match for Secretariat. He run in the beginning of '70 but some of his records still stand - despite better nutrition, shoeing, training, care… horses of today receive. We are still far away from a horse like that, I guess.

appearentally some people are still highly misinformed, bad things do happen in the industry yes but accidents also happen. most things that happen with racehorses can also happen in pastures. the horses barely get whipped, they mainly hit their own shoe to make a sound and when they do it doesnt hurt because 1. racing crops are not the same build as other crops, theyre mainly foam and 2. although horses do have more nerve endings, they barely have nerve endings that process pain, this is where the thick skin thing comes from

I like how they all try to calm their horses when they're in the tight spaces at the start.

Mad Melody the start them at two years though
@MicaelaGutierrez20046 жыл бұрын
Equine Kelsey Right, but training is very short. Light saddles, light riders, light everything. At 2, the most immature thing is the back. So that’s why everything is light and short.

Thoroughbred's have crappy feet. That's about it. (They're feet crack/chip easier than other breeds)

It’s possible but it would need to be a harder surface like hard dirt or something. On sand its pretty soft
