Well it’s been normalized by the organization, and in most files that are considered "canon" the organization is known as a secretive organization that no one except their enemies, and the government know about. That being said there’s no real canon except for the first couple SCP’s that were made like Peanut, 096, and basically most of the ones from SCP Containment Breach.

I read a book one time supposedly claimed to be channeled from actual aliens. I remember it saying something like they being able to see me because I was reading this book, supposedly allowing there to be an energetic link. The following night I had a very vivid lucid nightmare of being on a spaceship of some kind, being experimented on, there were people there in white coats, and aliens I am not a superstitious type I never read that book again after that lol.

The last SPC I listened to involved a town that had an AOE covering it ... & a sheep that had barbed nails growing down its leg & out of its feet. The town was currently the battle ground of gods & devils fighting over the Earth, our souls. It was last SCP for me.

That sounds SCP-1936 or "Daleport". I like to call it "The Eldritch Thunderdome". Several nightmarish abominations enter, only one leaves, with an innocent town caught in the middle.

Though cosmic horror is hard to pin down I don't really like the SCP stuff because it does not really scare me. Steven King already did it with the mist and he did it better

Yeah, I get you. I love SCP, but ironically the horror aspect is my least favourite part of it. I just think it's a really cool collaborative crowd developed writing project with interesting lore and ideas (personally, my favourites are the not so scary ones)

My big problem is that the MTF operators don't talk like MTF operators would, they talk like normal movie soldiers. I know I'm going full Nerdge but imagine if they were super professional badasses and then the skip tore them up anyway, like so often happens to MTF teams. It would be way cooler.

If you like the idea of SCP don't look into it any further than surface level, it's possibly the most cringe collection of garbage on the internet. As it's a wiki that allows basically anyone to make up things and publish to it, you have every idiot with an internet connection adding their own stupid bullshit without a filter. Surface level good, "expanded lore" bad.
