13:40 Fun fact, Spriggans are so emotionally attached to their rocks they can die of depression, and even instant heart attacks if they drop it. In this case, this spriggan dropped it's rock by accident by the cringe of the gladiator sight and died.

Endwalker was my 1st experience in the game and this was my 1st Final Fantasy of any kind. Never saw any movies, clips, trailers, or any other media about FF before playing other than seeing a few minutes of Asmongold making a character and reading about him and others liking it a lot. I ended up picking a different DC and server so as not to be on the one Asmond was on (I spent 15 years in WoW and I just happened to be on the server where Asmond started before he got there and once he transferred to another server it got a lot more relaxed so I figured I’d avoid it this time) and within an hour I decided to buy my daughter and I the full game and expansions and I never went back to WoW…not even to empty my mail on my 13 characters. I was 6 of 13 characters deep on getting all my 252 items from Korthia and had planned on finishing them all but FF cut off the copium so fast it made my head spin. I now have all my healers and tanks 90 and am getting close on DPS…easily the best gaming decision I’ve ever made, WoW literally made me a worse person and since switching it feels like a load has been lifted off of my shoulders. I recommend it fully to everyone!

I played with auto sort from the very beginning (found the function by accident) and just got used to how the game sorts items. Now I know exactly where stuff will be once I auto sort. Veeery convenient for me.

Really the way it actually works is: There are DPS, who focus on killing the enemies as fast as possible. There are Tanks, who focus on killing the enemies as fast as possible. There are Healers, who focus on killing the enemies as fast as possible.

Plus, a lot of AOE heals benefit from being closer to the rest of the group. So even the "say back" part is wrong.

I think that's why I like ESO as well, for the big open-world raids where all these people come together to kill a boss. Some will say WoW has the same and it kind of does, but many of the WoW world-bosses don't scale with gear like ESO.

I think the only dps with aoe at that lvl is archer and thaumaturge lol. But i don’t quite remember. Being a rogue was even more painful than lancer bc at least lancer, you feel like you’re doing chunky dmg haha

I played Rift too. The rifts also looked amazing. Rift also had some great riddles and jumping puzzles. I feel ESO does something similar to rifts and many of them have that same aesthetic of lightening etc coming from the sky. They are open-world raids that have to be triggered though some may be on a timer.

Rift have the best housing system ever, freely resizable furniture, literally entire zone to yourself, customizable weather and ambient, tons of furniture limit to use...... Comparing to that only benefit of FFXIV is predetermined house wall layout, since most people can't design and build their house properly anyway.

My first time in combat in ffxiv, I spam clicked the enemy not realizing skills were a thing. I used auto attack for a good 5 minutes before I saw the skill button.

I remember during 1.0 the plan was that Gladiator would somehow through the use of Stances adopt a defensive stance or a two-handed offensive stance. There we no plans for jobs back then so I assume they just meant stances/buffs, even though I distinctively remember them talking about holding the sword with two hands. Of course 1.0 had a ton of plans that fell through the cracks and while the Papa Yoshi team worked with a lot of what they gave them, some was just swept under the rug.

I didn't play final fantasy until ffxv back in 2019. I was familiar with ffvii from advent children but hadn't played any of the games. Then I played ffx and finally got into ffxiv. It was my first mmo since runescape which I played casually.

I do agree that Rifts have always stood out as badass to me back when the game launched compared to public events in other games. I also remember them kicking my ass enough that you had to try and skirt around the edges picking guys off one by one to progress to the next stage.

I forgot that hall of the novice gave rewards to different roles. Think I did it once on arcanist to get the brand new ring, will have to go back with a tank and healer at some point.

Hot take time. I think we're due for a major leveling overhaul in 7.0. First off, a level squish. Too many levels, not enough stuff unlocked between them. Second, everything from ARR to EW is neatly wrapped in its own storyline, but whatever story they go forward with next expansion will be immediately available to new players and veterans alike. The current system is friendly to people new to MMOs, but they need an alternative for veterans that have been playing MMOs for decades and want to jump right into the action. Getting to level 30 to unlock a job is just too much, try 1-10 conjurer, 11-50 white mage. 7.0 is the perfect chance for them to rework all of this as they start off new storylines.

I think they should just overhaul the job/class system as a whole. Most classes should just start as what they're going to end up. Black Mage, Warrior, White Mage, and Summoner for prime examples. Stuff like Archer and Gladiator should be spun off into full viable classes for max level while Bard and Paladin are unlocked as their own separate thing when you get any class up to 30. Similar to how you unlock jobs that start as higher levels. This could also happen with Scholar as it really only shares Raise with summoner these days. The idea of a blank slate new story to start out as would be pretty cool, and I've got an idea how it could happen. What if through some more time travel shenanigans, the Kairos is used to wipe everyone's memory of us being the Warrior of Light, kind of like what happened if you played 1.0. This way, everyone gets the same blank slate.

I actually was maining MCH for most of 6.1. 6.0 was RDM and 6.2 I'm running RPR. 6.3 I'll probably swap to DRG or something. I tend to have ADD when it comes to classes/specs. I know I went in and didn’t know the hall of novice exists. I chose marauder as my first class and went in a dungeon without knowing that the stance is something you press only one time, so I keep pressing it since it said I’ll gain agro…that turned out badly.

Hahaa.. In JP server, I also met a gladiator once who turns the stance on and off, I'm laughing till the duty ends, yet no one feedbacks to him.. The best is I met a dancer in alliance raid who keeps changing partner throughout the raid.. And the tank and healers had been his partners a few times..

Racials in WoW are less than 1% for most specs. I've gotten 99s on most encounters by playing the worst race for Druid because I like the way it looks. Horde has a big player advantage because racials used to matter a lot, and the playerbase all shifted horde because of it. It just never really corrected, but now that you can raid cross faction many people are going back to Alliance races they like.

Alliance dominated in PvP since wrath tho. If you wanted to do high end raiding-you went horde, if you wanted to do high end PvP-you went alliance for free trinket. And if you were a normal person you rolled what you liked and would find a good guild to raid and partners for PvP regardless. The whole thing got reworked a few years ago, and everything is in 1% range, even in PvP afaik. Wow took balancing really seriously.
