Thank you Bald god, As someone who doesn't usually do the highest tier content but still have a little of that competitive fire left in me, I wanted to try the Chaotic raid. I played the first few hours when it came out and progging with pugs was fun, then I had to leave and 12+ hours later, The best players have cleared it and everyone else now expect you to know all the strats, never wipe once, and have 5 years of experience as an engineer before you can play the game again.

For me solving Grim Embrace was just looking at hands and saying one of two lines: "1 hand - go backward" or "2 hands - go forward". Timing for moving is right after you hear a Heavy debuff applied to you.

People have such weird ways of remembering the hands. I just go "Hand moves forward, I move forward. Hand moves backward, I move backward."

The towers look like a mechanic that turns this fight from a 10/10 to a 5/10 PF experience or lower. Having body count checks in phase 2.. confusing ones at that to negate all the prog at that point requires way too much patience for 24 randoms. If there's going to be body count checks it should be early on in the fight or only after a bunch of easy mechanics.

I think my only problem with the hands is im trying to look at them, while also trying to heal my party, while also trying to avoid looking at the big ass titan summon that like 5 SMN's just pulled out, while also looking at all the laser light show thats happening. All in the span of like 3 seconds. Also while looking more mechanics thats she gonna pull out in the fraction of a second.

You can disable effects for other players for your party & alliance and make summons smaller.

For Deathhand at 1 count you can hold movement button. That'll work. For lazers i found it easier to find safe spot, then Г movement to lines that just got hit. (2 squares movement) After second (hide under hand or get out) - you press antiKB and just ignore mechanic she saved (well except death, it have 2nd part for some fukkin reason)

So this is a stupid question, but maybe I'm just not understanding. For the towers, do we stand on the smaller purple circles, or off to the side of them? I'm struggle bussing to clear this mechanic (I want the hair, but can't afford it gil-wise).

The small circles are just indicators for the number of people needed in them. The big outer circle is what you need to be standing in.

No. Tried testing this in the CAR, it follows you and its BS. What I do, playing on controller, for backhand is zoom in and walk backwards.

As good as this guide is and I thank the bald for it, pf has been such a mess with people giving up after a few wipes. It's nothing new, but for 24man content it hurts even more since it snowballs quite fast and you're suddenly left with 12 if you're lucky. I guess this is the price to pay for making it accessible to absolutely everyone, no unlock requirement, quite low min ilvl. Big groups can be fun, but not in this format IMO, quick and grindy content is good for 8 people max, ex trials and hopefully they can improve criterion too; better keep the big groups to exploration zones...

After the swap when you were on the outside I saw you had two tanks on your side. Does that matter at all?

Makes ppl have to readjust on the fly to positioning for pair stacks. Also, and this may not be the case but from what I've seen is the tanks who are tanking the main boss. So like group B tank is MT boss. The boss will hit group B's OT as well, so if they don't swap you may end up tanking the add and taking the dmg from the main boss as well cuz your tank buddy will have provoked after getting swapped.

That’s what people said about BA and DRS. It will become a lot more accessible once those discords start hosting these runs. Atm if you haven’t cleared (or don’t have a group to run with) I strongly advise against PF. FF14 players can barely manage light party content, relying on 23 other people to get it right (or stay for more than one pull) is beyond most of their capabilities. Everyone should save their sanity (more importantly their time) and steer clear.

Good basics guide lot of ppl still using that raidplan. The problem with it is it CAN get scuffed when the swap happens. When the healers get swapped there's times where dps get left behind with their groups healers on the other side of the arena and then you get to watch them slowly die. Now I've seen this not be a problem with really good healers in other parties that take care of the dps that get left behind, but usually with all that's going on they aren't looking to give those spot heals to dps that aren't in their party. Would recommend switching to CODCAR for those still doing it as the setup is a little better and doesn't leave ppl in your party w/o any of their healers near them. Basically it has Group A split into LP and take both platforms. Group B and C take the E/W tiles with the 2 ranged from their groups being on the platform with group A LP. That way when the swap happens (which should be THM from group A on both platforms) they'll still be near the other dps from the platform on the other side of the arena they get sent to.

Sorry if this comment is duplicate, I think my other comment didn't go through because I included a link(to raidplan PF is using). I feel like the raidplan doesn't do a great job of pointing out who takes which towers, I was hoping your video would go into a bit more detail there. You can deduce which towers are taken by who based on each side being mirrored, but I think it would help most people to explicitly call it out. Like t/h/m1 takes North/Inside towers and m2/r1/r2 takes South/Outside towers. I think most people(including myself at one point) don't realize it's mirrored on each side instead of static tower positions. PF screws up towers 1 more than any other mechanic and if they could get better explanations for it I feel like it would give much better chances of LB3 being available for towers 2. I personally talk with the party before every single raid to make sure we're all on the same page for what towers are being taken and it usually helps a lot.

Well the raidplan is a day 1 strat that's already been improved upon. Personally, I stopped going to parties that are still using it. CODCAR, as it's being called, is a better setup in general. And explains things a little better than the raidplan currently does.

It's just the way it is, there will always be better strats. The death of PF is having more than one to choose from. One needs to win and the others need to die. I wish you good luck in your crusade to make your preferred strat win, whichever strat it is makes no difference to me.
