I'm not sure, but you might get the money cheat in a Data cube somewhere (the FILE -LOOT) one, correctly described how to activate it. The Data cube's header is about you have won 2 zillion credits. This is the first time that a game "justifies" a cheat as being actual part of the plot. As for "SQUADRON", well, it's an Easter-Egg on Galaga I think, much like those bonus levels in Episode 1 and 2. Since it has no ending, I got bored after 10 or so minutes and quitted. BTW, Tyrian is taking place before or after our age? So Trent is still on his way here, or he already arrived and died millenias ago?

TheLambdaTeam That question had me *overthinking* for a while. Grab a drink and let's see. 1) The game's manual declares "The year is 20,031". So far, looks like the game is set in the future, but it could simply be another calendar than our own. 2) The manual again, mentions Microsol wiped out the Zica from Gyges. 3) A Datacube in Episode 4 claims that the Zica went extinct exactly 2-something million years ago. This contradicts point #2. Microsol wiped the Zica out while Humanity was in Prehistoric times? The only explanation I can find is if, IF, Microsol is not made up of humans. 4) Trent frozowns himself and sets course for Earth, a planet he doesn't recognize. It's hard to believe Trent wouldn't know the name of the planet his species originates from. Perhaps this confirms that indeed, this game's people, and Trent himself, are _not actually humans_. 5) The computer in Trent's ship recognizes planet Earth. Trent (and probably the other people in the universe) don't know what Earth is, but the computer does. This game shows computers as incredibly powerful and independent; I believe they picked up signals/radio from Earth, decoded the language, and recorded it as a planet with life. Real humans started calling our planet "Earth" at least 1000 years ago, and radio is ~100 years old. So Tyrian _cannot_ be taking place before the year 1000 AD, most likely 1900 AD. 6) A datacube at the start of Episode 5 mentions some books or something were found that refer to "Earth". It also claims these books could help reveal the mystery of Tyrian's (the planet) past. And finally... 7) Inexplicably, the background of the game's main menu is Earth itself. And while we're at it, another word for "Earth" is "Terra"; suspiciously similar to "Tyrian". So, we know the game isn't taking place (far) in the past (point #5). My theory is that the planet Tyrian is actually Earth itself (point #7), in the far future, devastated by an apocalypse (hence why it needs to be terraformed). The people in this game could be aliens (points #2, #3) that have no idea what happened on Tyrian (point #6). Or, maybe they're descendents from Earth and are still using the same calendar (point #1). The only problem with this theory is how Trent sets course for Earth if it's, well, RIGHT where he is. Maybe... maybe he did return to Savara like he mentioned in the video, then froze himself, and set course for Tyrian. After all, he asked the computer for a planet "100 years away". Maybe the computer thought he meant "100 years without using hyperspace/warp drives", and realistically, Savara and Tyrian must be at least 100 years away for Trent's slow-ass ship.

Leon Ryu This was exactly mah problem, as several of the game Data cubes show controversial information. It was quite funny to see that humans don't know about Earth but apparently, the computers do. Trent's onboard computer even writes the planet's name instead of just saying "there is a lush and green planet 100 years far away as you requested". As for not being humans, well, in the message windows, you can clearly see Transon's, the Ninja's face, and they look quite human to me. Also, even the game's name is a flashback to the city of Tyre (shown in one of the "Did you know" ending messages), so the people in this universe should have at least archive knowledge about Earth. It seemed to me that they kinda "forgot" about Earth, and its existence slowly faded away in the thousands of years. I think humans evolved in this universe independently than we do on Earth, and even if they knew about Earth, it was too far away to be bothered travellin' there. So ye, maybe the 100 years is actually 100 years in hyperspeed.

TheLambdaTeam What you say makes sense if we simply assume the year 20,013 is fake. Again, could be another calendar, so it's completely possible. Interesting point about the human-looking characters. I like my theory, but this ending annoys me because it pretty much disproves it :/ Who knows, maybe the main menu simply shows us what Trent sees when he finally wakes up 101 years later. Which means the game is taking place in the present, otherwise, millions of years mean the continents would look differe- _GRAH_ I'm gonna get a headache if this keeps going. I'm THIS close to trying to get in contact with Jason Emery and asking him to explain the damn story.

Leon Ryu Hell yeah, that'd be the best solution :) At several times though, it seems that someone other was workin' on the story with Jason Emery, and they never really read or remember what the other wrote, hence, the story contradicts itself and is inconsistent. I never really mind it, as this leaves the story open for speculation ,and besides, most of the space-shooters don't actually have a decent story apart from "go there and kill thingz". I support the idea that the Tyrian universe uses a totally different dating and calendar, and Trent is still on his way to Earth. Hopefully he'll came in peace, seeing no evil Microsol or Zinglonite freaks on this planet ;) I also felt that entering the Stargate was the biggest mistake Trent did, as it stirred up much more shit than Trent even imagined, leading to destruction of several planets. But then again, if Trent wouldn't have entered the Stargate, what would we be playin' after killing Vykomord? :D

@@TheLambdaTeam> But then again, if Trent wouldn't have entered the Stargate, what would we be playin' after killing Vykomord ... Good god, that gives me a crossover idea between Tyrian and Unreal.
