9:03 actually you can use an adapter that has a headphone jack and charger combined. I bought one for my Pico 4 and it works just fine. USB C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter, CableCreation 2 in 1 Type-C.

Kinda surprised they went back to glasses spacers being a separate piece again. Also even more surprised that even though the depth sensor is missing it has built in ir emitters which is an improvement over the regular 3 in terms of tracking in the dark. Might get a type c IR emitter for my regular 3 lol.

Q3S vs Q3 Pros of the Q3S compared to the Q3: - *16% better binocular overlap* this creates 2 circular "nose shadows" on Q3 screen which are ~16% more noticeable than in Q3S because the Q3 lenses have 16% less surface area. - *40% or 20% cheaper (depending on Q3S version)* - 20 more minutes (+14%) of battery life (though battery life isn’t very important since you can just use a power bank in your pocket with the cable inside your shirt, or use swappable batteries and basically have infinite battery) - Ability to play in the dark (it has 2 IR illuminators) - For the same game/situation the Quest 3S actually has the potential for 30% higher fps/fidelity than Quest 3 (because it has the same internal specs but lower resolution). Cons of the Q3S compared to the Q3: - *23% lower resolution (however they have both the same default eye buffer resolution, which can be further increased using Quest Games Optimiser)* - *Uses Fresnel lenses instead of pancake lenses* (see note 2 below) - *Less memory space compared to the 512GB version of the Q3* - 20% bulkier - Less flexible IPD distance settings (Q3S has 3 settings, 58 63 and 68mm and Q3 has a slider 53 to 75mm) Note 1: Q3 and Q3S have the same GPU, CPU, default eye buffer resolution, VRAM, RAM, passthrough quality and color, fps range (72fps-120fps), weight, etc. Note 2: For me, the difference in lenses wasn’t significant compared to the difference in resolution (I’d say about 70% of the difference in image quality between headsets comes from resolution). But reading comments on Reddit, it’s clear that some people notice a big difference My thoughts are that the 3s is much more affordable and they are practically the same headset, now if you want to pay 200 more dollars for higher resolution go for it, but this is my personal opinion.

Hey, if your main use case is going to be PCVR, I would recommend the Pico 4 over the Quest 2 or 3S because it has better lenses and better resolution than both

Its confirmed that Quest 3S have better upgrades ir sensors for mixed reality tracking on low light conditions or even full darkness over the original Quest 3. You get "low light" warnings on the Quest 3 while on the 3S you get full hands tracking in complete dark environments. So yeah people who bought the original Quest 3 are pissed over this because they thought the 3S would be worst on everything.

If you care about the quality(lenses and resolution) go for a quest 3(499$) but if you care about the cost, go for a quest 3s(299$) Hand tracking is the same, there is mixed reality, the processor is same. Everyone thinks that the headstrap is always uncomfotarble, but it isn't: not that bad but not that good

No, the quest 2 straps will not work on the 3S, because the 3S has the same side connectors as the 3.

Thank you for good review but please don’t mention that this VR headset isn’t comfortable. Many people watching this review, especially for this headset are in budget. For us using third party head straps, the factory default version might not be perfect in terms of comfort, but overall, the headset is fine. Mentioning this could have a really negative impact on those who are new to VR and looking to buy their first headset
