@RaphaelJohn6 жыл бұрын
shawaam I'd say it's less what you said, and more about this being the first time that Tyrion is favored more than Cersei by Tywin. So in a sense, Tyrion was telling the truth; Cersei disappointed Tywin by executing Ned, and sent Tyrion to handle Cersei & Joffrey.

+DancingShaved PolarBear I don't think she quite loves her children so much as she loves herself and merely sees her children as extensions of herself. That's why she fixates on Joffrey and overlooks the others, because Joffrey is king and in him she derives her greatest vicarious ego-gratification. She loves the idealized concept of her children more than her children themselves.
@aceclover7588 жыл бұрын
+Lietiel No she actually loves her kids She was furious at Tyrion sending Marcella away and was about to kill her youngest son when Stanis was coming because killing him with a painless way like poison is better than what Stanis and his men might do

Lucky Zed No, my point stands. Being merciful to children whom she loves as extensions of herself doesn't negate her narcissism. If she loved them outright she wouldn't be so cruel to them when they've disappointed her, and she wouldn't fixate on Joffrey while largely ignoring the others.

What I love about this is his confidence. They way he walks into each scene. Scene 1 the dwarf walks in and insults the king followed by a mercenary and a group of brigands he got to work with him through words rather than strength. Then scene 2 he walks into a room of the highest ranked people in the kingdom whistling rains of castamere. Again he is the smallest one there but his confidence shows he is the most powerful in the room as the only one to question him is the queen regent, who Tyrion then puts in her place. That’s what ruined everything about him going to serve Daenerys. Tyrion’s character is so much more entertaining watching him fool cruel or hapless people (Cersei, Janos, Littlefinger, Joffrey) than he is surrounding with well-to-do can do no wrong characters. Game of Thrones was so much better when it focused on power dynamics, verbal battles, & character depth. I still think focusing on the Taergaryans & Daenerys partially ruined the show because she lacked depth. It made her more predictable and made Tyrion useless next her.

I miss this so much. I miss Tyrion verbally owning Cersei at every chance he got. He and Tywin (and to a lesser extent Olenna Tyrell) were literally the only people willing to explicitly call Cersei out for how stupid and poor at playing the Game of Thrones she is. Margaery was willing to be super caddy about it, but she never explicitly insulted her like Tywin and Tyrion did. I don't care if Cersei's at where she is right now in the show, it's under the worst circumstances possible because the best Cersei can do is take a large, blunt object approach towards solving all her problems and literally everyone now hates her, which is somehow more people than hated her before.
@mareksilhart33075 жыл бұрын
She was queen mother, it was from part her fault. It was Tyrion who destroyed the enemies at Kings landing. She has won nothing, only lost all her children, all her legacy, the reason to play that game. And now she pulled lannisters into trouble by indebting them to afford golden company to have one more vain, desperate attempt to play game of thrones. She is indeed the most powerful? Naah, she is weak, even a random, foolish guy from the mob persuading people that he can communicate with gods by whatever way was more powerful than her. Even with the greatest army in the world she will be very weak, compusilve puppet that takes everything too personally, puppet that respects only power, puppet that sees all lords equal to her in power and weatlh as her enemies, so inevitably if her rule continues, nothing will be left at the end. And this is not how the game of thrones is played well, since it slowly will turn, and it actually already happened, everyone against her. Cercei is obviously not clever at all, but she thinks quite the opposite.
@codysellers41512 жыл бұрын
Cersi Does not lack wit, but she lacks impulse control and good judgment. Its partly Tywin's fault tbf though. He never taught her how to play the game, she had to learn as she went.

@@willchurch8376 Those roles are rare. Tyrion in particular was a wonderful, well rounded, fully realized character who just happened to be a little person. With only slight changes in dialog, that role could have been played by a full sized person. Much the same could be said about Willow. They all portray their characters so well, and off screen they're all sweethearts. Isaac Hempstead-Wright is probably going to become quite a looker once finishes puberty, and he's a great young actor as well. Welcome to Westeros, a World gone so bad, that the character closest to Richard III, who would be the villain in the story, is by far, one of the biggest heroes of the story.

Long Ago, the story in game of thrones were intriguing, smart and concise but everything changed when D&D attacked. Only GRRM, master of all the books could save the show but when the world needed him the most, he vanished...

@BartJ583 but it definitely could've been better if D&D put a little more effort into it. The show was still great at the time those two were killed off. It made sense, and wasn't just for the sake of subverting expectations like season 8 did

How the fuck is Tyrion still alive... I feel like such an awesome and likeable character must surely die by now. It's insane

Saying plot armour is plain retardation. I'd go with luck. No character had plot armour in this show.

I just love Varys' face when he reached out to read the letter.
