Wonderful scene! And TP looks like they melted him and poured him into those pants! Linda Darnell had a huge crush on Ty, and it is easy to see why. So tragic the deaths of Tyrone Power and Linda Darnell. He died much too young of a heart attack (heavy smoker), and she died in a house fire. Remembered and loved always.

ONE OF THE FEW TIMES THAT HOLLYWOOD GOT IT RIGHT !!! A Real Californio Song, Music, and Dance "El Sombrero Blanco" ! The close-up step dancing part, called a "Zapateco" (Shoe Dance) was probably not done by Mr. Power, but who knows ? A Wonderful scene all together !

Tyrone Power and Linda Darnell - such a young believable couple gone too soon! Sure wish they could have stayed in contact and did just more movie together following “Blood and Sand”. In particular, I was imagining them as Tom and Betsy Rath in “The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit” from 1956 although Gregory Peck and Jennifer Jones were superb. Don’t know much about Tyrone Power but I absolutely LOVE Linda Darnell!! So tragic the way she turned into her troubled, alcoholic mother when she got older but she was still so beautiful nevertheless. Maybe she and Ty reunited in heaven depending on what God decided.😇💖🌺

Hard to believe Linda Darnell was just 17 when she made this film. She must have been like a lovestruck bobbysoxer alongside the great Tyrone Power. At the time Power was the biggest matinee idol since Valentino. And far better looking. Darnell and Maureen O Hara are the only actresses that were almost as pretty as he was! Casting directors at Fox studios had to scramble to find starlets not over shadowed by his loveliness. Darnell and Power had a wonderful chemistry together. Particularly in this movie and Blood and Sand. Much like the adorable Joan Leslie, who steals scenes in Sergeant York and Yankee Doodle Dandy. Leslie was also a teenaged star in those films. You would never know it by their mastery before the camera. Two wonderful actresses from a bygone era.

Started off as a song and dance man though you probably would'nt have guessed it from this particular film. He would likely have danced the Sombrero Blanco better than poor Tyrone Power 😂🕺

A further comment, Catherine Zeta Jones in the Zorro remake is even more beautiful than Linda Darnell. That's saying plenty. In every other aspect the original was a far superior film. Power is so dashing he makes even Antonio Banderas look like a cats hairball. In addition, the marvelous Basil Rathbone is a perfect adversary for our glorious hero. Rathbone to this day is the prototype for Sherlock Holmes. His dastardly wicked soldier of forrtune is even better. No remake wannabes can match the golden era of costume pictures. Give me the originals every time.
