I also dont understand how there was ever any confusion. Roman and Greek records are literally some of the most detailed, in ddepth, and available records in all of human history. These events are so well documented I dont understand howw any scholar could have had confusion.

There is no argument. Cleopatra was a Hellenistic Greek. This is not a theory. This is not a question. This is a fact. There is not a shred of evidence that she was anything other than a Hellenistic Greek. Contemporary sources literally trace her ancestry TO GREECE. We have sources from before her birth that confirm she was Greek. Literally the only argument that she was black is "but Africa tho." Also overwhelmingly true for Pharaohs. Only the 25th dynasty was comprised of black people. (Which is what Will Smith wanted to make a movie about, which would have been more honest, but they went with some activist historian's unqualified grandmother instead) That was eight rulers out of 5000 years. In fact the most common identified natural hair color for Egyptian Pharaohs was red. Not just white, gingers. You cannot whitewash that which was always white.

You've got, The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, Goodbye Mr. Chips, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Of Mice and Men, Nitnotchka, Stagecoach, Sons of Liberty, Dark Victory, The Man in the Iron Mask, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Only Angels Have Wings, and The Wuthering Heights. These films are classics with nothing that compares. It's what they study today. Heck, Batman came from 1939. The 30's were the height of creativity.

I get it that you might have been taught that Cleopatra was black growing up but that has no real basis in history, egypt was ruled by greeks at that time and it has been recorded what cleopatra really looked like. She was greek. at best she might have been a mix between greek and egyptian and egyptian doesnt mean black. egyptians had all sorts of people with different skin tones mostly middle eastern looking olive skinned much like the people that live there today. Dont blackwash egyptian history because hollywood tried to whitewash everything for a certain time. Its Egyptian history.. it belongs to the people of Egypt, dont take it away from them.

Also, the cleopatra statement rubs me wrong in that she starts the statement with "I don't care what anyone tells you," which means regardless of what evidence they have, don't believe it. Imagine if someone said that, then followed up with "the world is flat" or any other crazy statement. Pushes a narrative of staying uneducated. This is just my opinion, though. Don't care what anyone tells you is one of the dumbest statements you can make in a series that's meant to be a historical documentary. My grandmother told me Cleopatra was black and she probably also told you that the nasty faeries keep stealing her dentures. Doesn't mean either one is true. About black pharaos. Correct me someone if i am wrong. I saw once in a documentary, that there was an era in egypt where there was a ''northern egypt'' and a ''southern egypt'' and both had their pharaos. And southern egypt indeed had black pharaos. Later on both parts of egypt merged , and the era of black pharaos was history. Now that was around 1000 years before Cleopatra, or even more. Tyrone Magnus is right, that Cleopatra was greek, and was white. Some sources even picture her with ginger hair.
