Even if its been said that he could have picked up the two girls from the bridge didn't the writers remember that Trinity caught a bystander from falling in episode 1? So why was anything at stake even if the bridge collapsed when he still could have caught them in time. If everyone is saying he could have used the force to pick them up from the bridge and levitate them down to him that means both arms were fine. So that means it's not like he could only use one arm and had to pick one child to save or the other.
