Tyrone the concept of the game is supposed to focus on a grown up and more experienced Peter Parker. Yes, the remastered version looks like a Peter Parker but if he was in high school attending his sophomore year. There was honestly no reason to change him at all. In fact he looks even more younger than Miles Morales.

The old face reminded me of the 90's cartoon because of the older college aged face with the wider jaw. The new one is so young looking that the voice doesn't fit it at all to me, granted we've only seen the one cutscene so far.

I think the main issue is how young he looks, he doesn’t look like a 23 year old! A spider-man that’s 8 years in to his spidey career. As good as the guy looks he’s gonna look a little weird alongside MJ, she looks a lot older than him and even Miles does. They just feel weird side by side and it’s hard to see him as a believable mentor to miles. They could’ve aged him up a little Atleast

What I'm getting from insomniac's explanation is that it's very difficult and time consuming when having to hand animate peter parkers face on the left ,by recasting someone that closely resembles the guy that does the mocap animators do not have to go through all that trouble of hand animating peter parkers face scene after scene ,which overalls shortens development and gives them opportunity to work on other things

Hmmm I would say that the original Peter Parker face was more fitting, especially how old Peter Parker is during the game. It is clearly shown that he is already experienced being Spiderman, not in high school anymore and has taken down so many of the Sinister Six in the beginning (from the newspapers), and when we were introduced to him with a lab coat on and working with Dr Octavius, it gave me vibes that Peter was already older than the high school Peter that we all know. When we are introduced to Miles, it makes sense Peter is older than Miles as it shows how much experience and age he has over the new soon-to-be Spiderman to be able to pass down the torch.
