@ChairmanMeow1 to be fair, I *think* the primary reason Bagent wasn't higher on boards around the league is that he didn't have all-22 circulating around. If you weren't QB hungry and outside the top 10 in the draft, you probably didn't expend resources looking at him. I certainly can't think of a reason why GB could've evaluated both Bagent and Clifford and reached a conclusion that Clifford was the winner. Then again, they continue blowing picks, so maybe I can...

He’s been making the right moves since he’s been here I don’t think he’s that crazy to think nobody will pick him up after how he’s played in the preseason with the same guys fields struggled with but is making the right decisions instead of holding the ball and fearless to get them the ball in traffic over and over and give them a chance with a pass that only they can get. We haven’t seen fields do what bagent did on this drive ever since he’s been in the nfl. If fields struggles early I hope they just say f it and make the move to bagent and give him a chance to save the season cause I’m sick of the bears losing cause they don’t have a quarterback who will throw the ball

@mr.fukk12 hey listen... Bagent may turn out to be a good qb, heck maybe even a great qb in the NFL one day, but he's going up against 2nd and 3rd string players in this drive. Players who are trying to make a team like he is. The defensive plays he threw against were very basic, nothing exotic or with much blitzing. I'm a long time Die-hard Bears fan and hope Poles keep the guy, but Bagent hasn't ever played against competition on the same level as Fields in college or the NFL (yet). Hopefully Justin improves with better protection and weapons, Bagent makes the squad as a #2 and keep that same energy if his number is called.
@avidsiman Жыл бұрын
@@royfields8840 And just the same, Justin Fields has never performed this well or demonstrated what Bagent demonstrated. Bagent looks like a seasoned veteran out of the gate and plays the game like all the QBs I grew up watching in the 80's. Here's Jim McMahon in his rookie debut against the Saints in 1982 when he came in the 2nd half to relieve Bob Avellini and Vince Evans (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWPaaqhmqq1gZ5I). You can find the full game elsewhere on youtube. The similarity is the polish, the poise, the ability to get the ball out quick and on the mark. Have we ever seen this out of Fields? Nope. Fields has shown athletic feats, but that just makes him a better version of Taysom Hill. Fields has always been tentative inducing his own sacks from indecision. He throws like he's playing shortstop on the baseball diamond with the sidestep and sidearm windup, not QB on a football field. that's really key to some of his problems. Despite having a full off season to work on that problem, he looks exactly the same. Justin Fields has great athletic capabilities, but as a QB his primary job is to make good decisions and act on them quickly. In 30+ NFL games (including preseason), he has yet to do that. He scored very poorly on the in the pre-draft mental tests, that's why he fell so far. Now you see why that's important. Justin Fields should do much better this season due to the improvement in surrounding cast, but he has yet to demonstrate he's a QB.

fields physical gifts with tyson bagent's brain would be insane. Bagent kinda has a noodle arm for NFL standards in terms of distance. For how much zip he has on the ball up to 20 yards, its surprising his deep ball isnt every good, and this is why he wasnt highly recruited. Even after his D2 highsman winning junior year the best school offer out of the portal was maryland. He makes great short and intermediate throws, but as soon as teams dare him to take the top off the defense with a 40 yard bomb, he wont be able to take advantage of it. 40 air yards is below average for max air yards in the NFL. 55 air yards is the range of most QBs. That being said, drew brees was a known noodle arm for the standard of the NFL with a realistic max of 45 air yards, even though he did have 1 that went 50 air yards, and drew was still one of the best to ever sling it.
@TripHop- Жыл бұрын
@@Perceptious37 Pass rushers are better than they ever have been, i honestly think the days of needing to throw deep a fair amount are numbered. Its just not an optimal strategy any more, because the risk/reward of sacks and negative plays aren't worth it anymore. I think thats part of the reason why offense is so down, is that the long ball just isn't working like it used to, but teams are still doing it too much thinking they have to to be optimal. This kid has the perfect skillset and brain to possibly revolutionize the position. His release is insanely quick, he looks off receivers until the last second and he has elite accuracy. I dont care how you play defense, the short and medium game when you have those skills is going to be almost impossible to stop, especially when you're mobile also. I heard JTO said in the latest Bagent video that a qb controversy is "laughable", i just dont get why he thinks that at all, besides a long ball cannon, this kid has literally very good or elite skills at everything you want in a QB.

@@richj011 Bro, I'm tired of watching Fields. Maybe he'll change my mind when he plays against the Bills in preseason. I just know Purdy and Pickett are in their 2nd years and airing the ball out in preseason. But we have only seen screen passes from Fields. 🚩🚩🚩

What would you think of Starting Bagent, benching Claypool and playing Fields as a receiver next to Moore?

As a bears fan I can tell you qb 2 usually gets a few starts every season

Kay if the talking heads are calling it negligent to have him as your # 2. If the bears have the same train of thought they may try to get fancy and sneak thin into the practice squad . If they do he’s gone

He was calm & throwing darts .He looked like a NFL QB that can come in the game & you can still think we gonna win this.

Hey boss new subscriber here, loving your content. Please give me your honest opinion if Tyson should start over fields. I know it was just preseason but I think he is cool,calm collected,. Good decision making....imo for a rookie , And compared to fields. I know he's young but i truly believe in the kid

If things keep going off the rails I'd love to see Bagent get a chance.
