People just won't believe what they cannot see and despite all of the deep discussions on the subject of economy in universities, in the family and between friends, the only way the ideas don't die on the table is by creating a simulation of the world under the sustainability premise. Yes. The hunter gatherer model, or better known as egalitarianism. It's really based in cybernetics if you think about it. Let's try to best mimic our environment, not kill it.
@FatherOMalley5 жыл бұрын
It's hierarchical as far as it is mimicking its enivironment. When ecosysystems are healthy, there is no mass extinctions, genocides, and war between species. Humans are hard wired to live in cooperation not in dominating social hierarchies. Humans have always lived in egalitarian societies up until the agriculture revolution, when the societies based in agriculture dominated the egalitarian ones. Hunting them to near extinction like we have done to every species on the now destroyed planet we have today. Yes some species must maintain some very nuanced form of hierarchy but it is actually rare in healthy ecosystems. Research Robert spolasky. He did a very interesting study on baboon troops. In most mammals, social dominating hierarchy, like we see today, is a result of environmental factors.
@FatherOMalley5 жыл бұрын
In short, the more unhealthy your ecosystem is. The more social dominating hierarchies you will see form. Behaviour is largely based on environmental factors. Scarcity produces hierarchy. Either real or perceived scarcity.

How is this for a start?: A global Free Land Network. We buy up land as individuals and in groups, then draw up contracts with conditions outlining the free use and transfer of that land (except for taxes) with a stipulation that each parcel cannot be bought or sold but only transferred on a first come first served basis. And we do this at strategic points all over the globe until we've permanently removed enough land out of the capitalist system by law and by legal contract to jump start a real life Zeitgeist global community. Then we apply this principle to other other resources, i.e, housing, food, etc. Something to consider.

I think you are confusing different terms. The zeitgeist movement is most certainly against globalization, at least in that, future societies have to be self sufficient. We can't continue truck goods around the globe. If you can't live sustainably in your ecosystem then you really shouldn't be living there in the first place. One thing the zeitgeist movement does not get into, for legal reasons I'm guessing, is the necessary need for the human species to depopulate. This is a must in order to combat climate devastation, effectively rebuild ecosystems, and to survive the Anthropocene extinction. In summary, our species' survival is depending on the human species becoming self sufficient and localized. Read the New Human Rights Movement.

Sadly I completely disagree with the idea of a basic income..(apart from perhaps for the sick and the old) ....I think it's a terrible idea...instead of a basic income, it should be made financially worthwhile for people to start sharing the jobs we NEED people to do and work LESS. There is no such thing as a shortage of jobs there is only a shortage of people sharing the work. For every job shared you would create perfectly equal people.
@NO-vu8pd5 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by make it "financially worthwhile for people to start sharing the jobs"? Also, I respectfully disagree with your overarching comment that there is no shortage of jobs. I recently earned a Master's in Education and have been in the field all my life. I also have licensure in student support in my state, yet I have not been able to obtain a job equal to my qualifications for over a year. The reason is absolutely a lack of job openings, fueled by the decision of the money-driven committees and boards to save costs by making fewer staff do more. And as passionate educuators, we ethically cannot refuse for the sake of so many children in need. As long as we live in a money system, the powers that be who make decisions will ALWAYS choose cost-efficiency over the caring and nurturing of humans and the environment.
@peterjol5 жыл бұрын
of course capitalism won't like the idea of making it financially worthwhile for people to start sharing the jobs we need people to do and work LESS...but something has to change!! ...and if you give it enough thought getting people sharing the jobs we need people to do would actually be setting us up for changing to a non monetary system, it's just that it would have to start with making it financially worthwhile because regardless of what their income is almost nobody would be willing to share their job if it means they lose any money....almost everyone will say they can't live on any less money because they have taken on mortgages or debts that require the regular income they are earning. There is no such thing as a shortage of jobs there is only a shortage of people sharing the work because everyone is stuck with the insane notion that jobs must be around 40 hours or more a week. What is the point of robots and automation if we don't all get to enjoy working LESS? Nothing else would be better for putting us on the right track for transitioning to a nonmonetary system and out of this infinite growth system than people sharing the jobs we do need people to do and working LESS
