That's what I was thinking but I'm pretty sure that's a 4130 cromoly drive shaft or a mild steel

Wow! So much easier. I remember doing u joints on my old jeep cherokee sport 97 and using the press bent it. This seemed much better. Nice tip!

I liked that you didn't use any jump cuts in making this. Been wanting to do this on my F150 - but with the shaft being aluminum, I'm also curious if the "technical taps" to get them to loosen up would be okay to do.

Yeah it's totally fine. I been doing it this way for over 25 years and never bent or broke anything. I had worse luck with a press.

My son bought a 98 ram and we’re in northern Wisconsin; front passenger u-joint went out. The circlips were one with the cap. Ain’t winters nice on our steel.

Hey Derek where are you located what city and state I am in Louisiana I have a 2001 F250 with 445000 miles at some point am going to have to put a crate motor in it and if you not to far maybe I could get you to do it for me I would do myself but my age is getting caught up on me and my back is a major problem for me now and you sure seem to o ow what you are doing and can’t say the same for what they call mechanics where I live
