I am never tired to watch this candid camera. The actor is absolutely fantastic

One of the funniest programmes ever. This whole team were so darn good. So subtle - better than the louder hidden camera versions that followed.

She really was special wasn't she? She lives on forever in this clip. Her outfit alone was to die for; never mind that she was great too.

Miss hotton is especially entertaining, the summery colourfullness of the older generation then. And her name - she speaks of it with honour and great spirit when guarding her name. The whole thing is great. Very special

I watched this episode on the day it was first broadcast in the 1970’s. It had me crying with laughter, especially the first person. It is as funny all these years later as it was then. I adored this programme and it was my favorite at the time. Thankyou for posting. I never knew how they could keep straight faces as I was in hysterics

this one is really hillarious... wondering why no one seems to have copied this idea in reality shows or in films. Good one

I don't know when this was filmed, but I bet she never thought 22 Chartfield Square in Putney would one day, according to Zoopla, be worth £856,000. That was in the days before property insanity took over.

How can you say that? It's actually good, I know you may be used to bells and whistle comedy, but these past things are quite innocent, far from rubbish.

Vlad Putin, agreed, in its own very innocent way. Little could we have known that lurking behind this fun little joke was an entire absurdist movement waiting to pounce.

Yes, and the man changing his name was trying to recall the spelling and gave a 'P' instead of 'M' before Jonathan Routh corrected him. They must have edited out the part where she spelt it out to Routh at the beginning, as there's no way he wouldn't have asked for the spelling, because it's such a rare name. It's interesting how all 3 women's addresses were given out to the public on national TV - but things were a lot different back in those days; there was a lot less mistrust around.
