So glad the DEI nonsense is coming to an end. Clearly it was making things worse NOT better. Mich can eat the cost or $250 million but they won't change unless something even more drastic happens. US Academia needs to be thrown out and started over. The rot of DEI and other ideology is ruining us from within.

exactly. that amount of money could have given scholarships to college elsewhere, or even community college, which would have served more students, better. even if the money only went to disadvantaged groups. instead it went to virtue signaling nonsense, paper pushing jobs with no KPIs, etc.

Elementary and middle school as well as high school also have effects on whether or not they can get into these colleges or universities. We’ve seen many times that we have biased against those who aren’t part of the collective norm of the areas diversity

The University of Michigan was one of the original "public ivies". Most white people couldn't get on there. "Diversity" is very divisive and its promotion makes people become more tribal.
