Bravo Zulu, MSGT Edwards & TSGT Stauffer! Great to see the RC's of Offutt! I was stationed there in 1981-1982; I loved that base & I loved the Omaha area. I'd be lyin' if I said I didn't miss those days. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! (I wouldn't report to BMT in August, though; that was a mistake...)

@rappigonen You must live in the United States or an area that has an Air Force recruiter. Enlistment into the U.S. Air Force by citizens of countries other than the United States is limited to those foreign nationals who are legally residing in the United States and possess a U.S. Citizenship or non US citizens must have an Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S) Registration Card (INS Form I-551 -- Commonly known as a "Green Card". The green card must have at least 6 months or more remaining before expiration. Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and must be in BMT before age 42 years old, must speak, read and write English fluently to apply to join the Air Force. The Air Force does not bring applicants to the United States to join. You must get to the United States legally on your own and complete all immigration processing to obtain your Green Card on your own. The Air Force does not help. Thank you. Can you qualify for this AFSC with no more than a high school diploma and a passing ASVAB score? It’s definitely going on my list if the Air Force is willing to train me from an entry level.

Also, I’ve sworn in to the delayed entry program, currently making an AFSC wish list from a sheet of careers I was given at MEPS. Despite ISR being on that sheet, I was told that some of the listed jobs require prior education before beginning training, and I’d like to know if this is one of them. I’d ask my recruiter about it, but he’s probably asleep. I’m trying to complete my list before Monday so I can ship to basic quickly. Even if I’m able to ask my recruiter before receiving a response, please comment anyway for those who might be wondering the same thing. Thank you

Dylan, your recruiter does not decide which career you receive. Job selection is done at a higher level above your recruiter. Your Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test scores, physical exam, citizenship and moral standards determine your job/career qualifications. Job Selection Process: When processing through the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), you will provide the Air Force Job Counselor with at least 5 jobs or more and an aptitude area (General, Mechanical, Electronics, or Administrative) that you qualified for, and are willing to train and serve in. You will receive one of the jobs, or an aptitude area that meets the needs of the United States Air Force that YOU selected. Remember, this is an opportunity for you to go through the job selection process, and Enlist into the United States Air Force, not shop for a specific job. You CANNOT wait for a specific job. Whether it is your #1 job choice or your #8 job choice you must accept the career. As long as you are fully qualified for a specific career, and if there is an opening in that career field, then you will get that career guaranteed to you in your contract. The benefits of being an Officer are better pay (like 2 or 3x the salary of enlisted) and you enter the military already in a leadership position.

You have a wish list of the jobs you would LIKE to do, and then based on your ranking on an Order of Merit List that determines which of your choices you get (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. choice).
