Awesome! I was a rookie Aircraftsman in Cold Lake AB from 1966-1974. I worked primarily on the CF 104s, but almost everything else that came transiting through there from the USA or other NATO Nations. One of the few I never got to see was the venerable B52 except when passing by Minot AFB from time to time. Thank you for this up close and personal view of that great old bird. Many great things were made in the USA. My favorite of all time is still the F104 Starfighter. I still love those beautiful howling J79 missiles! There's nothing else like them. RS, Maj Ret. Great video. I was lucky enough as a young Cub Scout to get a tour at Malmstrom AFB in the 70’s which included going into a B-52. Still an amazing sight after all the years.

Oh that C5 though! I hope you stayed for the C5 departure and can upload that as well. The C-5's used to have amazing sound with their old engines. It's hard to believe the B-52's are still in service and going through a re-engine process. I am pretty sure they're going to outlive me.

I have a feeling they will out live me, when I was in the AF in the late 90’s they wanted to push their life to around 150 years. Absolutely insane for an airframe

C-5 is gigantic but doesn't look as intimidating...its size is what makes it impressive. Almost looks 'puffy and soft'. B52 looks meaner.

Not designed for fuel efficiency, just brute power. The old B-707 and D-C8 commercial aircraft engines sounded a bit like that too, not as loud of course, but the same high pitched whirring sound and the black exhaust.

The current B-52H sounds like a louder 707-320B (mostly because both planes almost the same engine). It will be interesting to hear what the upgraded B-52H with eight Rolls-Royce F130 (neé BR725) engines will sound like; it may sound like a louder version of the Gulfstream G550 business jet.

Never seen a B52 only in pictures, i know its a big Bomber huge payload, seeing it next to American forces biggest heavy lifter not sure of name think its nickname is Buff think its a C5 ? It's huge it makes the B52 look very small, heard it can carry an Abraham's MBT or 2xBradleys thats heavy lifting, great for humanitarian reasons also getting massive amounts of food aid medical etc where ever in the world its needed, better than re-sup of death ☘️😥
