U.S Air Force Gulfstream C-37B landing & departing Ottawa (YOW/CYOW)

Rare visit from the U.S Air Force! Here we have their all white Gulfstream landing and departing Ottawa today as SAM961! The G550 was in town as the support aircraft for the VC-32 that came in later on. Mattis is in town with other world dignitaries to talk about ISIS and the Libyan war.
Anyways I hope you ENJOY the video; i just wish we would have gotten a better looking Gulfstream...

Yer, they often use false tail numbers too. I can’t find 10550 as a C-37B. SAM961 was tracked on flightaware but no acft details.

I think you might have been fooled. Sometimes other USofA Federal government agencies "borrow" various DoD related callsigns. In fact they sometimes "borrow" the callsigns of several USofA Federal government departments.

I wonder why the VC-32 pilots don't stay with the airplane. A hotel room is a lot cheaper than a G-550 trip, and what happens if the Secretary needs to bug out?

Some general can't fly commercial and so they buy an $80 million private plane. I'd even ok a first class ticket whenever he needs to go somewhere. Our tax dollars at work.

Generals are basically the equivalent of a CEO of a large corporation, and you don't see them flying commercial either. You pay for convenience especially when you need to be in multiple locations in several days.

The livery is intentionally plain/pathetic/depressing. Don't draw attention to yourself in diplomatically questionable environs. When they paint it blue, like AF1/AF2 it transforms into a beauty.
