@poopyrose6917 By Federal Law you must be at least age 17 with parental consent and at least a junior to have an appointment or to join the Air Force. However, they may speak to recruiters when they come to their high school. While you are still too young to enlist into the Air Force, it is never too early to start preparing. There are a few things you can do now to prepare for once you reach the required age. First study hard and graduate from high school. Get the best grades you can in all subjects especially English, Math and Science. This will help you improve your score on the ASVAB test which is required for enlistment. Say no to drugs and get an early start on physical conditioning are important steps in the right direction. And stay out of trouble. Law violations can delay and in some cases will disqualify you from joining the Air Force and taking advantage of the opportunities available. Starting early and being prepared are your best shot. Stay in contact with your Guidance Counselor and maybe we will see you in a few years. You may research more information about the Air Force on our site of www.airforce.com to include benefits like education, careers, training, lifestyle, requirements, etc. There is also the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) portion that answers a lot of the most common questions asked: www.airforce.com/frequently-asked-questions/ You may also download the Aim High App: www.airforce.com/aim-high-app You may also log on to Airforce.com to chat with a live advisor for assistance or call us to answer questions. If qualified you can join at age 17 with parental consent during your junior or senior year in high school as part of The Air Force Ambassador Program and enter the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), but you will not go to Basic Military Training (BMT) until AFTER you graduate high school.
