Air Force vet here. We give each of the branches shit here in the states, but overseas, we're one big family. Air Force - we point, y'all shoot. Edit: This is absolutely a sanitized version of Air Force's basic training. There's so much violence, screaming, and cursing missing. I got thrown, shoved against the lockers, and when I accidentally bumped an MTI in the DFAC line, I got thrown to the ground tray and all. And I absolutely am thankful for what I went through, because those MTIs broke me down and rebuilt me up to show that I don't need mommy or daddy to live a strong, great life. I went on to serve on Fort Meade, Maryland, and made Staff Sergeant first time testing. Even got to deploy, on paper I was Afghanistan, but in real life, went to Camp Lemonnier in Africa. Keep them eyes in the sky up and running. I miss it. Sometimes it feels like the mission never ended and I'm not where I should be.

At Beast week our drill pinged batteries at anybody that took their face out of the sand. The "end" of the low crawl was a hill it was made of SAND, not this shredded rubber crap, and there was glass shards in the sand... How do I know? My arm and sleeves were shredded, and I was "leaking" cant say the "b" word apparently. Drill asked if I need medical like I knew better than to get cut. "No sergeant", and when I got to the top of the hill I rubbed dirt in it. Didn't even get infected. Miracle. Today's basic has nothing on pre 2011. Not to even mention the shark attack I experienced by FOUR instructors as soon as I stepped off the bus at 1 am for basic. Four instructors yelling and spitting in my face, for messing up my foot scan, telling me "to go home, you made a mistake, you are a mistake, and your mother should have swallowed you." Bro...I could go on and on... Like the female drill parading a trainee in his towel through the hallway to another dorm because he decided to take a little longer in the shower and she was FINNNNNEE. He came back FULL mast. Dude we were just different back then and NO "Our instructor never threw our mail at us."

I'm currently Active Duty for the Air Force and oh my goodness is this video more relaxed than my BMT experience. I'm pretty sure since there are cameras there, the MTIs were more relaxed. I went through BMT over a year ago and the hardest part was the mental aspect like all branches. By mental aspect I mean shut off from society, and not being able to be able to talk to your loved ones. But other than that it was pretty easy, I come from a military family so, the yelling was like nothing new to me. It's just don't speak unless spoken to and stay out of trouble. Do as your told, and those 7 1/2 weeks go by fast. All you know is one week you're arriving at Lackland and the next you're leaving Lackland to go to your tech school. Best decision I ever made, but of course at the time I was like why did I enlist. Trust me you'll go in as your old self and out as someone you're majorly proud of. Best feeling ever. Aim High, Fly, Fight, And Win to all my Fellow Airmen. If you are currently serving or have served, Thank you for your service.

My father was in the air force. He worked as a teacher for the air force academy. He was one of four people on base who had to stay weeks by himself inside a nuclear launch chamber. He was buried underground for months every year with almost zero outside contact. The most common way was through a telephone that wasn't always operational. Then he worked as a trident and had to leave on submarines for multiple days to weeks. He served 17 years, but he had a spinal and nerve injury and is being medically retired against his wishes. This comment was not created to bash Narrator, it was made to show others who may take this video too seriously that the Air Force isn't all like what this video implies. That, and it's not often I can brag about my badass father.

At the mention of being a drill sgt ... had an idea for some content ... what if some military creators and/or Narrator decided to train some future enlistees to prepare them for bootcamp? They would just be helping them to reach certain physical goals and getting their minds right so they will hopefully get what they really need out of basic ... or deciding that maybe the military isn't for them before they go through with signing up. Would be an interesting series following veterans as they directly coach future veterans ...

The First video looked like Civil Air Patrol Boot Camp uniforms and events. it was usually filmed and usually lasted only about 2 weeks. Depending on the time of year, the training would change, with summer training being all about physical fitness and training, while winter training was all about indoor activities, and a few firearm drills. Since it is technically part of the Air Force it could have been taken as a part of that. The second video looks closer to the actual Boot Camp, but im not entirely sure where the whole pep rally and games come into play
