Protecting your capital is much more important than making money. Basically because if you lose your capital, making money is much harder. ''Missing the train'' vs. ''losing your money''. There are a lot of trains, but if your money is gone, it's over.

Invest judiciously, keep a stop loss figure. Shuffle between debt and equity wherever the ratio goes too off your target. As for the target, I recommend a Ratio like this Debt % should be equal to your age in years. If you are 20, debt is 20%, reset in equity. If the market falls or rises drastically, your debt % will change, which you should rebalance to 20% and bring back equity to 80%. Thus you would have bought low or booked profit depending on if it was a crash or a bull run.

I totally agree; I am 66 years old, recently retired, with approximately $1.2 million in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. @David-ki5ff18 күн бұрын
I agree. It defaults everyday with inflation. Then when Roosevelt tried to confiscate gold and Nixon closed the gold window.
@larsnystrom669817 күн бұрын
1971 for example, when Nixon unilaterally canceled the direct international convertibility of the United States dollar to gold. That was the perhaps most important default in the US history. From then on, the USD has constantly lost value. Googling "how much value has the USD lost since 1971?" gave me: "The U.S. dollar has lost 87% its value since 1971". My guess was 90% 🙂 What happens now is much worse, though. The default spending is unstoppable, and will kill the USD. The interest on $36 T in debt increases the deficit spending uncontrollably. Currently, and increasing: Cumulative FY24 interest payments: $843 billion Cumulative FY23 interest payments (through August 2023): $630 billion

Gold, BTC, quality global stocks, yes, however not property, if the U.S. dollar gets hyperinflation everything becomes worthless in that country, only global assets survive. Yes assets will go up against the U.S. dollar, however the U.S. dollar would become worthless compared to other currencies or global assets. As for property in the U.S, property is a national fiat asset, it would go up in value against the U.S. dollar, however not in other currencies or global assets. .. Anyone feeling the impact of these economic shifts should consider Crypto long-term trading strategies to protect their assets. My advice to anyone feeling the heat in this inflation, just trade long term more than ever, I have made over 520k from day trading with Sandy Barclays in few weeks, this is one of the best medium to backup your assets incase it goes bearish..

Correction David, the US hasn't defaulted on its debt in over a hundred years. Before that, the US defaulted on its debt every 7 years on average. That is how we got the former currencies: greenback, continental, silver backed dollar, etc. Those currencies became worthless, and you only maintained value if you owned an asset that could be revalued into the new currency or you held coins which had metal content value. This is the real reason behind digital currency, they don't even want you to have coins.

We do not have an opioid problem. I've been on and off opiates for over 2 decades after severe injuries from serving in 4 wars. What we have is a mental health crisis. Why do normal Americans drink alcohol? Hundreds of times - if not thousands of times - more Americans die from decades of alcohol use and abuse then they do of any oxycodone or fentanyl. It's not even close. Let's use science, data and real numbers. We have serious mental health issues that's why Americans tale opiates and drink alcohol. It has more to do with depression, PTSD and anxiety then it does to do with any drug that elevates the emotional pain people are suffering from. I'm so tired of ignorant unscientific people talking about opiate crisis. ITS ALWAYS MENTAL HEALTH! Not the drugs.

and yes every time I go off the medication I have to go through withdrawals and I've never abused them. Never bought them off the streets. Never stolen anything or robbed anyone to get drugs. If you wan to tackle the issue of drugs and suicide then we have to take serious look at mental health.

Well this was interesting! The very first time I clearly see how a competent lawyer could be useful in the senate. The crooks in the government are the biggest legalists, pushing one crooked law after another. Valiant effort, wont likely work. XRP is the backup :)

Makes a lot of sense, look at the history of the Roman Empire and how it came crashing down after hyper minting coins (printing money) and over-expenditure.

The fed can save the currency or the bond market but not both.
@bpb554118 күн бұрын
Close. If the FED makes the wrong decsion. The Bond market is going to rip everyone's face off. The bond market controls the bond market the FED has NOTHING to do with it. The FED needs to raise rates not cut them. How do we know. The Bond market is tell us so. And while the bond market has made mistakes in the past, it is a rare event. Be careful, be safe, be kind. Stack food and water, the more the better.

A senator who recommends debt default. No thanks.
@bpb554118 күн бұрын
No politician is talking austerity. We get a hyperifnationary depression right into a default. We finally get one talking about getting spending under control and he is hated. This is the exact reason neither Trump nor Harris has talked about this stuff. It doesn't win elections. Helicopter money wins elections. And helicopter money is ruining America... slowly and then all at once.

History lesson for John. Every attempt over the last 40 years to grow our way out of debt has always led to greater debt. It doesn’t work! It's like trying to fill a bucket with water that has holes in it....... and they keep drilling more holes!! The only way to fix it is austerity. Plain and simple. STOP OVERSPENDING you drunken sailors!!!! Balance the budget now!!!

Can somebody explain to me the actual numbers behind the statement, " we cannot pay off US debt by taxing more." the corporations in the United States make 28 trillion in Revenue every year and are only paying what like 25% in taxes what if we were to up the amount of taxes that these corporations were paying from let's say 25% to 35%, that would more than make up for the difference of the two trillion dollar deficit that we have how is that impossible?

120% debt to GDP cannot be grown out of. The only way out is through debasement of the dollar and inflating away debt.

Sure it can. I'm not an MA resident,.. but if they're going to allow illegalaliens to vote,.. then out of state US citizens ought to be able to not only vote anywhere including MA,.. but anywhere AND as often as they want. This guy has my million votes to replacePocahontas. Having said that,.. First,.. The US doesn't HAVE to default, There are 2 other options,.. 1. the preferred,.. the US can grow its way out of the debt to GDP problem,... by; A. as he said bring in Musk to clean house on fraud, waste and the insanespending to try to stop the climate from doing something it's been doing for 4 billion years,.. (in 2007 Al Gore promised sea levels would rise 20 ft by 2014,.. if we didn't spend trillions to stop the climate from doing something it's been doing for 4 billion years,.. and here we are,.. a decade beyond the greatclimatetsunami and sea levels HAVEN"T risen any more than the decadal average over the last 100 years,.. about 1" per decade,... NOT 20 ft, not 2 meters, not 2 ft, not 2 inches,.. but 1 inch per decade. B. with the help of the above and more,.. in the beginning,.. just lowering deficit spending from the unprecedentedcriminal levels of about 8% of GDP,.. to the level of real GDP growth,. or about 3%. (Even Hanke is starting to preach this) and with further efficiencies and fraud, waste and pork removal,.. and most importantly pro-business investment incentives,.. as he says,... to grow capital investment rather than government pork "investment",.. eventually balance the budget. or the unliked kicking the can down the road,..option,.. 2. becoming Japan and having the Fed buy the debt and enacting yield curve control. The problem with this is,.. Japan has a current account surplus,... the US has a trade deficit,.. so internally and externally inflation will still ensue. Eventually this won't end well. The US will lose reserve currency status and hegemony,.. because we won't be able to fund our defense, let alone anything else. So actually we have one option.
