I got my mom one of these, and painted it purple for her, and she absolutely loves it! She makes jewelry and uses a lot of very small tools, like tiny files and special pliers for bending wire, she would misplace things, they would roll off her desk, etc, I went back the next day and bought another for my father and one for me. I do a lot of gunsmithing stuff with little teeny tiny punches and extremely expensive tools that are only good for doing one specific gunsmithing thing, I use these just specifically for my smallest tools and I'm extremely happy with these, the giant $20 bolt cuttersi picked up there...not so much. But harbor freight honored my return even though I had f*** the bolt cutters up pretty badly

Aww it's so cute. I used to have some no name mini box similar to this and I used it for my 1/5th scale rc parts and tools. It was perfect for that. I also had a mini tool box when I was a kid yhat my dad or brother gave me, it was perfect for me at the time. I had a couple wrenches and screwdrivers they gave me and they filled it up. I thought I was so legit with it. I idolized my brother growing up. I used to have a red wagon that I lifted with little spacers between the basket and wheel assemblies, used to put my bicycle in it tying it down with ratchet straps. I pretended it was my dirt bike and I was transporting my "dirt bike" in my red "trailer" just like my brother did with his bike and trailer. Those were the days. My brother gave me a red Craftsman double stack tool box that he used until he got a bigger one. I thought I was badass with that tool box. Cleaned and organized it every day thinking I was a legit mechanic working on my bicycle "dirt bike" and my lifted red wagon "trailer" 😂

Certain circumstances, yes. I look at it as how often am I going to use whatever tool. If I use that tool daily then how many times will I have to replace it before the cost of however many replacements equals the price of buying a good one. Id rather buy a tool once than have to deal with the inconvenience of having to replace which the cheap tool would break at the most inconvenient times.
@xXCigarXxАй бұрын
@Berm_Blaster this isnt a tool though,it's a tool box...there isnt really a extreme amount wear on it if you use it once a year or 5 times a day....Ive never been concerned the bottom will fall out of my toolbox or something like that in general....it's not really something that has many breakable moving parts...and even if a tool box breaks....you dont lose access to your tools....the drawer just gets stuck sometimes or something.

I have a Snap On box, have had it for twenty years and it has done the job ok. The problem other than the price is absolutely the paint. One thin layer of paint with no clear coat. Every time you clean or wax the damn thing lots of red paint is removed. I am very surprised it is not raw metal at this point. Drawer handles are all rusting from the sweat on my hands touching the thin paint. It is no competition to powder coat. Also have put a caliper on a US General and snap on at the same time, they are the exact same thickness. As long as drawers are roller slides you can not lose.

I've got a 3 drawer, plus the top box with a handle on top, maybe 22" wide or so? Bought it a Kmart some 25 years ago, "Benchtop" branded. sat on top of my bigger box at a shop for 5 years and in my trunk for 10 years after that, it's a little dented up, but all the slides are still smooth and everything works. This reminds me of the mail order scam items back in the 70’s. In the back of a magazine would be an ad for a cheap item. The price was great, then this tiny item shows up in the mail. Then you find out why it was so cheap. I wonder how many see ‘toolbox’ and the price, thinking it’s full size…. till they go to the store? And they still could be nice items, for some use.
