America and Romania will have to submit a complaint to remove the incompetent judges so it doesn't happen again. That's the solution. Your solution is why kids grow up entitled. Everybody wins so feelings aren't hurt. In this situation one gymnast deserved the bronze with correct scores. All they can do is correct the scores and give the rightful person the medal and apologise.

4 seconds is a minute, they did it as fast as possible, they had to write it out, the judges knew they were filing and they accepted, end of story, if u feel bad because they were harsh to all involved, which i do, make it right the proper way. Her gogean was around, she got 13.766 for bronze. Romania has an issue with their scores, u cannot steal a tenth from Jos d score and said u must write this all out, ya giver her a second to do it. 4 seconds is a joke because they did niot give her diffulty lol

How much time do they need to protest? The coaches know each gymnast(s) point calculations of all routines. The judges are right there on the floor. As soon as the score is flashed, the coach can immediately walk over to the judges. It's simple. They time restriction cuts down on the opportunity for ground swell of social media to influence a "protest."

Not really. The Romanians files an inquiry after one of their gymnasts was unfairly penalized. But since their inquiry was also over the one minute time window their inquiry was denied. The question is why did they accept the inquiry by the Americans and not the Romanians? Both inquiries were over the one minute window. The gymnastics judges deducted 0.3 points from Simone because she didn't "properly" salute them after finishing her one routine. So, on the next finish, she gave them a 5-minute salute, LOL! Gymnastics is messier and pettier than it ought to be!

No. The romanian athlete was incorrectly scored so she should have won the bronze. They appealled and it was rejected. America appalled and their score was upgraded and that's how she win the bronze. The romanian athlete was incorrectly marked down for difficulty, they penalised her for a move she did correctly and got marked down, that said it gave the bronze to the american. It is the judges fault

Because Jordan was last to perform her routine, her coaches only had 1 minute to submit the inquiry which makes NO sense because Jordan's routine is 1 min 27 sec long…how can they even have the time to rewatch it AND appeal? While everyone else had 4 minutes to submit their inquiry. + it was the judges mistake to begin with for > failing < to giver her 0.10 she Earned from her leap.

This is awful. To do that to a Bronze recipient or any recipient after the fact, and podium moment? Once you place that medal on the Olympian it should be too late. No regard for the mental suffering of the competitor. It's not her fault the judges can't get their act together. The decision should have been final. This year's Olympics is just a huge disappointment. Ms.Chiles should sue the Olympic Committee for the embarrassment and mental anguish for millions of dollars over this. Her reputation and love for her sport will forever be marred. How could they see her excitement in her winning photos and time during the games and extinguish that. I think they've taken away something that can never be replaced now, and I'm not even talking about the medal. They took her spirit.

Apparently the judges missed a skill set that Jordan did. It wants to coach make the complaint about it they went back and washed the tape and realized they did miss something. The judges admitted they made a mistake. But now the Romanians are saying that the USA Coach made the call 47 seconds too late. But if the judges did their job right in the first place. Chiles should get her 0.1 added back (it was already decided the day of competition), and Barbosu should get her 0.1 added back (she was deducted 0.1 for stepping out of bounds when the video showed she didn't). That would place Barbosu 3rd and Chiles 4th. Instead, the FIG and CAS made the most convoluted decision that made it fair to no one.

They never disputed the step out of bounds within the 4 minutes they had. They could have submitted an inquiry. Whatever inquiry that was submitted was rejected. We don't know if the neutral deduction actually had to do with out of bounds. Jordan's inquiry was accepted and was within the time frame or they wouldn't have accepted it. The judges decisions should stand as is. Going back days later and disputing judging has never been done officially in gymnastics. FIG and IOC don't get involved in judging. They don't need to set this level of unprecedented involvement into the judge's job, up to stripping medals for judging disputes. It unprofessional and demonstrates corruption. If these judges have made mistakes, fire them. But you hired them and let them do this job. They can all be fired afterward. But, to get involved like this by re-judging the competition later by a boardroom full of people who decide to strip medals, is really dangerous.

Still that was completely the judges' mistake, and the Romanian gymnast (but another one) is the rightful bronze medalist.

Who cares what medals these gymnasts get. Gymnastics is a popularity contest. Judges determine the winners. You can have one judge score High and another judge score really low. Any event that requires judges do determine winner the results will always be questionable, perhaps Favoritism towards certain athlete or country. .

Judge was probably pressured due to its USA who appealed. But if it was another country, the judge would have strongly said appeal time over 😢
