To begin with, I have watched many of these homecoming surprises and I enjoy them. I think I enjoyed this one the most. I am retired Navy as of 2006. In 1997, during rhe Gulf War, I was stationed in Bahrain. Having lost my dad in 1976 and my mom in 1986, my sister who was 10 years older than me was my mama figure. She was always running her phone bill up to call and check up on me worried and wanting to make sure I was ok. Her preacher had asked me if I could possibly get him a pair of Navy pilot gloves. Being in supply. That wasn't hard to do. It was just before Christmas in 1999 and I wasn't able to fly home. I later was owed a favor and was able to be flown back along with a group of Navy Seals. I called the preacher and made a deal with him and a plan. I wrote a letter to him to read before the congregation at the Christmas eve sermon. I didn't include my name or my sister's as I knew she'd know it was from me. After services started, I hid in the outer room and waited. He read the letter. When he finished the letter, he said " I wonder if I'll ever receive those gloves"? From the rear I said yes sir, I have them right here! My sister went nuts. Lol. It worked out great. The reason I am writing this is it's now 2019. About the same time of week that my homecoming surprise was. I lost my big sister in 2004 to cancer. Explaining this will explain why this video meant so much to me. Merry Christmas to all and to all of my brother and sister veterans, thank you for your service.

Dave, if you read this, thank you for your courageous service, young man. I never got one of these surprise visits from my only child US Coast Guard son, but at least I got to fly my boy home from Florida to see his Great Uncle for 10 min and shake his hand one more time before Uncle Bill went Home to Jesus and rest of our family. My Uncle Bill, my boy's Great Uncle Bill (in every sense great) was a survivor of the Pacific in World War II. He was a 20-yr-old Marine out of Camp Pendleton, survived many attacks including one bullet that wound around his helmet like a roulette wheel in Vegas, and saw his Marine brothers raise the larger second flag that War Photographer Joseph Rosenthal snapped his photo and received the Pulitzer Prize. Uncle Bill said he had SO much fun on Iwo Jima (jokingly) as well as all other islands except Tarawa that he joined the 82nd Army as a paratrooper in Korea, saved 5 of his brothers, got the Purple Heart, came home and became a Franciscan monk. When my son shook his great uncle's hand for the last time in 2015, bit his lip hard so he wouldn't cry, and as we left after Uncle Bill made the sign of the cross to us in the air, my son finally started crying and said, "He still shakes like a MARINE, mom." God bless you and all military men and women and their families. - mother of now US Coast Guard veteran

Last September my youngest son PFC Noah George surprised me. We had missionary friends from India staying with us when I hear Moses say "Armilda surprise!" I'm in the laundry room doing laundry when I go to see what Moses was talking about there stood Noah in the middle of my kitchen. He had driven eight hours from Fort Knox Kentucky and didn't say a word about coming home and told his superiors to lie to me if I called! Best day of my life. My thanks to all the men and women who serve our great country!

My son had quit boot camp last summer bc he had lost weight and gotten sick. When he came home he was nothing but skin and bones and had an upper respiratory infection. But with time going by he got back on his feet and got a job. However he felt like he didn't want to waste his 4 years of rotc on any basic jib he really wanted to be a marine. So he spoke with the commander and chief of the marine corp and became approved to go back fir a secind chance and this time he made it with no obstacles. He did it. He is now a US marine and I'm so proud of him. When we went down for family day and graduation. I was so overwhelmed by all that I saw and developed so much more respect for the drill Sargent and instructors. Ty to all the military vers for keeping our country a free country and for protecting us with all of your pride heart and soul.❤❤❤😂😂😂😒
