I wish them both my very best. I married my fiancé in Hawaii 9/15/1970, and six days later I flew back to Vietnam. I convinced my fiancé to pass on the large wedding arguing the costs and complexity of a big wedding. In fact, I was highly skeptical that I would make it home. I wanted her to get the insurance and benefits if I was lost. Well, obviously I made it and we have been married 51 years!

Congratulations!! and yes I really thought his brother was going to show up. As a 26 year Navy Veteran myself, who gave up many special occasions myself I truly understand that duty calls. One thing I never forget though is the sacrifices my wife made while I was gone so now its time to stand by her side. Some people may never be tested on the promises they made at their wedding ("In sickness and in Health") but my wife and I have. Everyday I have to see her in pain after seven back surgeries knowing she's never going to recover and the constant pain she is in I am tested to the limit. I am still here beside her and will be forever!!

He has successfully clouded our children's minds and patriotic passions of decades past.
