My wife is from Laredo, her grandfather was a WWII vet. I’ll never forget after we got done putting his casket in the ground and walking back to the pavilion at the cemetery and seeing Espinoza’s grave stone. 26 Aug 21 is a day i will never forget…that blast was felt by every veteran of GWOT. I tried for a few months after to keep going, but I essentially had my mind made up after seeing the news that it was time to retire.

I think it comes down to personal bias. What Ryan does 3 times from :45 to 1:10, I saw other podcasters accused of cutting off the guest. I think some people develop unconscious biases and their patience for things becomes greatly diminished

@@dysfunctionalaf I was recently watching a Julian Dorey clip where he interviews a prolific US sniper. Several comments were complaining about him interrupting his guest. In the above clip here, Ryan is doing it far more often than Dorey (and I wouldn’t even call it interrupting). I like both of these gentlemen so I’m not taking issue with their interview style. I’m addressing the comment saying Ryan knows how to shut. It seems surprisingly opposite to what people were saying about Dorey. Tbh it felt like Dorey was targeted by a bot brigade. No big deal just noticed a conspicuous difference in comment sections. The biases might be a result of who the guest was rather than the interviewer

The worst part is how they didn’t give allies who helped them visas but have allowed millions of illegal un vetted criminal aliens across the southern border. It’s the same in the UK. We denied veteran Gurkhas visas, who are some of our most loyal and well trained ally troops. Yet we allow half of North Africa and the Middle East in illegally via dinghy. It’s just wrong on all levels.

@@ss454nova4he did but he made it pretty clear if they didn't keep up their end of the deal which included not randomly executing citizens, reprisals against our allies, stopping woman's rights to education and basic human rights etc. then the deal was off and the troops weren't going anywhere as soon as Biden was in power the Taliban knew there'd be no repercussions for their abhorrent actions he also was adamant about US instruments of war were not to be just abandoned and basically gifted to the Taliban.... I'm not the biggest fan of him but the withdrawal would have been nothing like the absolute tragedy that unfolded

So crazy to hear about this. I was at HKIA a year before the withdrawal. When he says they stayed in the abandoned gym I know exactly where that is. My team used the Abby Gate several times when they went out for engagements.

I was also there, but my experiences in comparison to this guy's feel insignificant. I only had to hand over some people that had breached the walls, I didn't have to watch what the Taliban was doing to them, or get blown up.

I heard another military member tell a story of parents throwing their infant over the fence so they could have a better life, but what they did not know behind that fence/wall was barbed wire in the infants were getting pretty much decapitated once they got thrown over the wall by their parents

26 August 2021…I had just left an appointment with mental health and got the notification of the explosion. I had experienced a lot before, but that blast hurt me more from 7000 miles away than any IED i got hit with or anything else that happened to me in my career. That was the day I decided it was time to retire…took me a few months to actually click the button, but it was a hard few months of trying to exist in the new generation.
