Having been an ADJ on the TH57A from 1974 to 1978 at Whiting, I never thought I would see the day when the Navy would phase out the Bell 57. I hope the new TH73A has a smoother ride to it. I saw the beginning of the phase out of the T28s and the T34s started coming aboard just before I separated from service. I think about now how much fun I really did have back then and wish sometimes I had stayed in the Navy. And to think I went to work for the Army as a civilian employee and retired with just a little over 39 years of combined service.

Factory facilities right on NAS Whiting. Navy did well with this contract!

Will civilian owners of civilian versions of this aircraft have access to these maintenance facilities?

Never thought I'd see the day where Whiting has phased out both the T-34 and TH-57.

3:44 is that a full auto to touchdown? I would be surprised if they let the students do full autos in the expensive new aircraft.

The syllabus will certainly have full autos but those in the video were likely instructors or FCF pilots

"177 million dollars for 32 Helis with spares, support and training" they said. Nice bang for bucks, I would like to add.
