I read somewhere that lithium batteries can spontaneously combust. In a plane powered by lithium batteries, no thanks. This boondoggle will never go commercial.

How much money will this company be able to spend on engine failure testing and engine failure protocol testing? What kind of evaluation can be put on the longevity of a product if it's just being lab tested at a rate that is the lowest cost to them? This looks to be a failure in the making. You'll never be able to produce Decades of experience on a product that has no real world experience. Just short sited

Just a superficial look to the NextGen from Airbus, the Nexus and Wisk, reveals that the Embrear's EVO concept is way more solid, with better aerodynamics and less prone to failure, what is needed to commercial flights and this strong foundation provides for better TCO. It is clearly a winner over everybody else with the exception of Beta, another excellent, solid concept.

@@raulcarlos - seriously, how could that thing autorotate? Gliding can be okay, if you've already got enough forward airspeed to provide adequate wing-lift. But if you're in the dead man's curve -- high enough altitude without enough lift -- then you're dead. Fortunately, it's got 8 rotors for vertical lift, and it's hard to imagine enough of them failing at once.

@@LucasSanRFS - unless of course it hasn't gained enough forward velocity yet to achieve wing-lift. And if it's too low, then it won't have a chance to gain enough forward velocity.

Bombardier really needs to get itself in the game because it's probably the only one of the Big 4 not to invest in many eVTOL projects to date which is weird considering they practically invented an entire category of personal mobility with the Ski/Seadoo projects.. which if anyone remembers was supposed to be called the Ski Dog but because of a fateful printing error became an even better name... And a great pun... 23 Ski Doo!

Why should they show the tests flights? Embraer never showed any test flight of its 20 planes she certified. You live ina world of You Tube videos, which is not Embraer main purpose (please audiences). BTW the mock up they showed it’s a diversion to confound the competitor. That ugly thing will never see the sky.

What have they ever built, certified? Nooooooothing. What about Embraer? Well let’s say 20 planes, ( military, commercial and private jets) radars, Air Traffic control system, for Brazil and other countries (ex. India), Ships, landing gears.. and the list goes on and on. Has presence in 150 countries and 19 000 employees

Not a chance! GE looked at them and said no. Rolls looked at them and said no. Best case it's a 1.7 airplane, and that is not going to cut it. But ya gotta had it to them, they must be the best salesmen, BS'ers, and dreamers on the planet to be able to raise the amount of money that have raised so far. NASA and Lockheed built the X59 to reduce the "Boom". These guys named their test bird "BOOM". THAT speaks volumes.

Since 2020 covid concerns are 'the Hydra-plane emissions causing flu covid symptoms and cold cloud emissions. I took photographs of this and found fruit trees some did not produce like Peach, Raspberries etc..but that may be the cloud emissions of Hydra-planes that are also causing colds flu and grey skies. Amd Arboriculture City Guilds

Come on,- the economics revolve completely on fuel cost. No way anything supersonic is viable using any kind of jet propulsion, since drag varies as the SQUARE of the speed.

Thanks for this. After the reverse stock split I was losing some confidence as the stock has taken quite a hit after announcing the split and then today after the split. But I guess I'll stay in. Hope this company survives as I truly believe that eVTOL has a big place in aviation in the coming years.
