Man, these guys even taxi in formation and put their gear up at the exact same time. All I have to say is, these guys are VERY dedicated to their job, and I salute them, as well I do the Marines, Navy, Army, Green Barrettes, and SEALS.

The same happened when they came out to preform at hickam. They flew low and full throttle. A lot of pictures were shaking. And the couch that I was on was shaking.

the f/a 18 G, called the Growler, is an electronics warfare variant of the f-18e. It replaces the E-8 prowler.

I used to see them every year at the willow Grove air show. They were loud but not as loud as the f14. even at higher altitude the f14 was louder.

... saw them flying a couple days ago. I was pumping gas, not at an airshow, but got to see the Blue Angels flying qq delta, down, up, etc. The noise was exhilarating. Living in an area with a large military population, it's common to see bumper stickers that say, "I love jet noise." I'd like one they says ... I appreciate jet noise.

I enjoyed the video of final assembly of the Super Hornet, BUT there was nothing shown inside bld 75 on the flightline. They are the mechanics that trouble shoot things and install avionics/engines/etc before paint. Too bad that it is not at bld 42/45

There IS a such thing as a FA -18G! it is based off of the F model but with a lot more avionics!
@serendipityvideoprod12 жыл бұрын
You're right, Boeing is tops. Did you know the Super Hornet is actually a completely different plane than the F-18 - totaly redesigned from the airframe up. In fact, the only reason why it kept the F-18 designation was so that it didn't look like the military spent money on a new plane. But back to your statement about Lockeed Martin, Hmmm. F-16 (most successful fighter plane ever made and sold), A-10 Thunderbolt and oh ya, I almost forgot. F-22. You're right, what do they know.

kirkjamestkirk, Boeing bought out McDonnell/Douglas so since the Hornet and Growler are still being made they are now Boeing aircraft. Aircraft from before the buyout, like the F4 Phantom, the DC8, which was built before the McDonnell and Douglas merger is still a DC bird. The DC10 was built before and after the McDonnell and Douglas merger, which then became the MD11. Confusing? History isn't being rewritten, just becoming clearer.
@telemark229 жыл бұрын
BillWa I was recently surprised to hear of a 717, then found out it was born as the MD-95.
@BillWa9 жыл бұрын
telemark22 the original 717 became the C-135, which of course became the KC-135. The differences between it and the B707, B for Boeing, not Bomber, are minor, length, fuselage diameter, later when Boeing bought Mac-Doug, which promptly took over operations of Boeing, they renamed the airliner, which was the DC-9, the 717. Confusing? Ya shur Yabetcha!
