Truth be told, most of these unfortunate outcomes could be avoided by staying home until the next day, not driving through temporarily flooded areas, clearing out garbage from local drain, making sure water pumping stations are properly maintained, etc. Normally weather events in SoCal are boring which is good

I live in in Southern California. About 4 miles east of Disneyland. This is an exaggeration, people. Some drizzle here and there, a light rain that lasts 5 minutes a few times. That's how it's been the last few days. We live 11 miles from Newport Beach- the waves are a bit larger, but nothing unusual. Maybe there's more happening 500 miles north, above San Francisco. I feel so bad suddenly for my fellow Americans in CA. I am hoping for everyone's safety. ....That being said. This brought back memories of when it flooded in C.V. in the 80's around 5th and Naples. Not exactly Naples though. It was the Camelot apartments and the property seems built like in a sunken way and shit wouldn't you know it flooded so high, water was running practically THROUGH our apartment and it flooded OVER the swimming pool and the maintenance man was running around kind of panicked and FELL IN THE POOL. My initial reaction was horror and empathy but then I heard my dumbass brother laughing @him and well the guy was ok he popped right up and swam out and I think my brother reached out for him or something but it was hairy cause of all the water rushing everywhere. Everyone was wet but fine❤😂😮
