U.S. obstructs Iraq's efforts to join China's 'belt-and-road' initiative (Part II)

On March 30, 2024, while visiting Iraq, Dimitri Lascaris toured central Baghdad with Hussein Barood of the Iraqi Movement for the Belt-and-Road Initiative. First, Barood and Lascaris attempted unsuccessfully to enter the heavily protected 'green zone', which houses the U.S. Embassy and other Western facilities. They then toured parts of central Baghdad that had been devastated by sectarian violence following the illegal invasion of Iraq by U.S. and British forces in 2003.

Dimitri, Iraq was a huge intellectual center. I think that this is why he took you to the book store. he seemed proud of that fact and wanted to show the books center. seems to be the debate center was well for sharing ideas. almotanabby was one of the greatest poets of all time. things for you to research, I guess. thank you for these great videos.

16:24 you had just passed near the statue of one of the greatest thinkers/poets of all time in the Arab culture ( Al-Mutanabbi). Mr Hussein should have mentioned that. It's very sad to see this historical country becomes an American settlements. Thanks again brother Dimitri.
