Manuel Neuer was responding to Mike who was asking for "free GK gloves" from Manu...If you pause Mike's original video on the part just before he shows Manuel Neuers message you can actually catch the frame before the top part of the message is completely blurred out...and Manu starts off with Hey Mischa something about someone told me you where asking for gloves I have to wait for adidas to send me more....the context of the message is being manipulated by Mike to make it seem like Neuer contacted him to give him props when it I fact he was responding to Mike's request since Manuel Neuer seems like a Class act Bros Bro anyway I could see him responding like the good guy he is....then Mike takes it and blurres out half of the message and puffs his chest out with fake claims....I see now why many of our fellow GKs don't care for this guy....

I am a keeper in the UK and even growing up with our 'actual' training you could tell this Modern Goalkeeping guy wasn't correct. Some of the 'saves' he was making were so unnecessary. For starters if his positioning was any good he wouldn't have to dive anywhere near as far XD Great video my guy, Keep going

I think what drives me the most crazy is that the goalkeeper I played club with from age 6 - 18 and won a high school championship with went to a D3 school. I played D2 and despite all my years in club, college etc he was BY FAR the best GK I ever played with for the reasons you have outlined in so many videos - He was just straight clinical. he made good/flashy saves of course but he was just so freaking reliable there was no way anything got past him that shouldn't have. He played for a semi-pro team in the summer between college seasons but in the end just is a normal human like so many people. He was so good, so clinical, and won us a state championship. I am 5'6" and have obviously been a habitual non-goalkeeper (despite my YMCA coach attempts as like a 7 year old), but seeing 'crap' like his content which I normally dont care about rubs me the wrong way. We got solid GK heroes out there being clinical as all hell (quick feet so you don't have to dive etc) just winning games and titles then we got this dude just... just.. whatever. Keep up the good work

I absolutely love your perspective. I completely agree. Unfortunately, the soccer world is very similar to the rest of the world where a lot of qualified guys are overlooked for whatever reason. I’ve always been frustrated over the years seeing objectively bad goalkeepers get chance after chance over someone who’s reliable and solid. Never made sense to me, but the reality is it’s more important to make money and bring in big names than it is to win sometimes. Thanks for your take and look forward to hearing more from you in the future!

I am 13 right now, Brazilian and a goalkeeper since 7, i love the role, but even myself, who has never been a professional know that his trainings are delusional, it´s not giving him any football IQ, not bettering his positioning, you NEVER want to make flashy saves, recently i defended a penalty in such a boring way, but it worked and that´s all that matters!

He does now apparently. I don't know why he does because Neuer really is decent and a nice person. Probably because Manuel Neuer is unaware of who Mike is and what he has said or done in the past. But Neuer is also a professional goalkeeper and is constantly training and playing and may not have the time to search through the Mike's Instagram so I think Neuer can be forgiven for not being aware.

My Dad played for UD Poblense as a GK when he was 25, he started playing GK at 16 and was turned down by third division German teams, fourth and non league English teams. Even second division Mexican teams. He told me it takes lots and lots of dedication and years of training to get into the first team. And when I showed him Modern GK and Goloremi’s videos, he was disagreeing with Modern GK drills like saying “you don’t do that, that’s unnecessary” or “who is this stupid poser?” And he agreed with what Goloremi said in those videos of his. My dad played with UD Poblense in 1999 at the age of 26 but only played 20 matches due to a major head injury which the doctor said it’s best not to play soccer anymore.

I think the thing people miss is that a lot of professional players have their socials handled by professional agencies who have full autonomy to act on their behalf. This Mike fellow seems to have a huge following and a ton of clout so it could just be that Neuer's social media guys saw a good opportunity for a collab and went for it. Of course, they could also be handled by the same agency or there could have been some money exchanging hands as well. This all could happen without Neuer knowing or having to care about any of it, and it would also certainly explain why it was in English, since it's purely for content consumed by a global audience. This is more common than people think, and it's also the reason why a bunch of club twitter accounts have the same kind of jokes and in-game references, and also some pros sound almost like the same person online. Agents are always looking to manage the reputation of the players off the pitch and in general it makes sense to have people handling their public profiles so the players can focus on their career more. This is not to say that there aren't players who handle their own profiles obviously, but it does happen.

I cannot believe mike downplayed injuring a kid’s wrist. As if a ligament injury isnt as bad as breaking the wrist. Like WTF? Ligament injuries can take ages to heal. Im still dealing with a messed up ligament in my right knee that i injured in 2018! It makes a popping sound whenever i bend down or whenever i do some sort of weight training like squats or mountain climbers. So for mike to play off a torn ligament injury as not a big deal just shows how careless he is. And we can see that. And he had the audacity to tell tyler he isnt a real pro when mike himself has never played a second of pro football. Sorry for ranting. I just have a lot to say about this.

Hey man, hope you’re doing well. Just out of interest, what do you do to improve on the distance you can hit from a goal kick? My accuracy is really good but I’ve got the disadvantage of being shorter than most goalkeepers. That also takes a toll on the strength in my kicks. So idk if technique is the only thing that can fix that? Do you specifically train on building leg muscles to improve kicking at all. Would be intrigued to know 😃
@AmericanProfessional1
@AmericanProfessional1 3 жыл бұрын
Yessir. So it might actually be an advantage to be shorter with goal kicks. Most of the taller guys I know, their feet are too big to really get the “punch” on the ball you’re looking for. I would definitely work on general strength training in your legs, to prevent injuries and stay solid, but the key to distance on goal kicks is all about technique and putting your entire body behind the motion. If you only use your leg, you lose out on roughly 4/5ths of mass you could be using to generate power. So I’d recommend watching guys like ederson and studying how they move and then applying it to your own game. It won’t be exactly the same, but it should give you a general idea of what you should be shooting for. Hope that helps, good luck and keep us all updated on your progress. Thanks for the comment and all the best.

Can’t just be me that watching that cyber bullying video makes Mike just seen even more immature. From Wiki, about Age of Consent in Germany. The age of consent in Germany is 14, as long as a person over the age of 21 does not exploit a 14- to 15-year-old person's lack of capacity for sexual self-determination, in which case a conviction of an individual over the age of 21 requires a complaint from the younger individual; being over 21 and engaging in sexual relations with a minor of that age does not constitute an offense by itself. Otherwise the age of consent is 16, although provisions protecting minors against abuse apply until the age of 18 (under Section 182(1): it is illegal to engage in sexual activity with a person under 18 "by taking advantage of an exploitative situation" So it kinda is weird but at the same time it's not. Hard to tell whether he's wrong because that law seems sketchy to me.
