Sorry for the second comment but I feel this is important to say. The conversation we just listened to is probably the most important conversation everyone should listen to on earth today right now. If we get community and connection right, everything else will likely fall into place.

Relationships, purpose, service over power, fame, and wealth (the triad of fulfillment vs the triad of success) to rebuild eroding communities. Help your neighbors, build deeply intimate friendships, care for one another. Raise children with family and friendships to help them have rich in-person social lives. Be vulnerable, work through your fears/trauma. This is a rough summation for the previous commentors who didn't want to listen to this podcast.

John Taylor Gatto was a 30 year award-winning schoolteacher who taught in the best and the worst neighborhoods of New York He exposed the whole schooling system purpose was to train people to be obedient to authority and to do ordinary jobs working for billionaire corporations. And this included up to the university levels. His books: Dumbing Us Down & Weapons of Mass Instruction Should be required reading for all parents and kids. The dangers of schooling are as bad as social media. It is not natural for children to be sitting in classes all day every day, combined with the schooling purpose is a danger to all children He also has KZbin’s. He died in 2018 in his 80s.

Yesterday I went to doctor’s office and the nurse asked me in about three different ways if I was depressed, or lonely.. then surprised me with a this question, “Do you belong to any clubs?” I answered what kind of clubs? I had no idea what kind of question that was.. I a tuallythought it was kind of not appropriate.. and then she said we have to ask… make sure you’re not isolated.. lol! I guess she wants to make sure I’m active in my community.. it used to be questions about guns in my house.. lol

Dr. Vivek's unique focus on community, relationships, and loneliness is probably going to have a profound effect on our country. He brought great credit upon himself, and especially upon public institutions which are sorely lacking our trust. His actions are one of the first bricks being laid in rebuilding public trust in our public institutions. Thank you Vivek 🙏 And thank you Rich for sharing this conversation 🙏

This guy is a clown. He pushed propaganda without the slightest basis of scientific rigor or evidence. There is nothing of value he could share.

There’s tons of science to support what he did. As opposed to what Trump was trying to push for the virus. Silly MAGA, facts are for serious people. He’s identified loneliness as a major issue as well as alcohol. Trump could never be so serious.

I'll give you the lockdowns, and the data are not clear in that area. But masks work, period, full stop. There's no debate on that in the scientific world. It's only in the ignorant science denying world of MAGA that people enjoy denying science.

The biggest health crisis in the western world is the diet, not loneliness. After all those years he had to come up with something that wouldn't upset too many people, so he picked loneliness. LOL I didn't bother watching the video after the first few minutes. Rich is scraping the barrel bottom with this.

Haven't list yet, but i watched him on Simon sinek podcast the other day and I was so impressed. Afterwards, I actually introduced two of my friends and we are planning to set up a monthly meet up for crafting with another two girls. I hope we all get inspired to keep building our communities!
