To those who may not know, the "Baby don't cry" part of the lyrics is an ode and tribute to the INXS (pronounced "In Excess", popular Australian pop/rock band) song "Baby Don't Cry" from 1992, Bono was a close friend of its late lead singer Michael Hutchence who died in 1997.

A lot of U2's songs have become a soundtrack to my life, the good and the bad. This song is beautiful in so many ways, this song I can say for the loving part of my married life it is the song for the end of my marriage. Divorce is always hard not to mention putting to rest all of life's aspirations and raising of children together. Looking at life afterwards takes time to sift out the good from the past comes perseverance and courage to be good with being oneself alone. Not lonely just not needing to be codependent with anyone. I love who I am today, maybe someday I will be able to share my life with someone else. Maybe....

For me, they became too "pop" sounding and tried too hard to create a hit song. They got away from what makes them U2...Edge's guitar sound. There are some gems tucked away in the past couple of albums, but overall they don't move me like they used to. With that said, I'm still a big U2 fan and am hoping they make yet another reinvention of themselves in the coming years.
