Lyrics:
The sea wants to kiss the golden shore.
The sunlight warms your skin.
All the beauty that's been lost before, wants to find us again.
I can't fight you anymore; it's you I'm fighting for.
The sea throws rocks together but time, leaves us polished stones.
We can't fall any further if, we can't feel ordinary love.
And we cannot reach any higher, if we can't deal with ordinary love.
Birds fly high in the summer sky and rest on the breeze.
The same wind will take care of you and I, we'll build our house in the trees.
Your heart is on my sleeve, did you put it there with a magic marker.
For years I would believe, that the world, couldn't wash it away
Cause we can't fall any further if, we can't feel ordinary love.
And we cannot reach any higher, if we can't deal with ordinary love.
Are we tough enough, for ordinary love?
We can't fall any further if, we can't feel ordinary love.
And we cannot reach any higher, if we can't deal with ordinary love.
Are we tough enough, for ordinary love?
Are we tough enough, for ordinary love?
Are we tough enough, for ordinary love?

This was a song we've chosen to dance to with my wife on the wedding day. Now I am a father of a 4Y old girl and cannot agree more with the message. This song remains absolutely universal. Thank you U2 for giving this anthem to everyone.

IMO if U2 kept this as an acoustic version (the version they'd perform on late-night talk shows and at the Oscars itself), it'd be hard to argue against it. Stripped down, the song is much more emotional.

Ffs 🤦🏾‍♂️ The susceptibility of people to propaganda to the point where they have to shove it down everyone’s throat at every opportunity in every aspect of life should be an IQ test. How on earth anyone is saying these things is just astonishing considering you have no blinkin clue what’s actually happening. But you don’t care. Just onto the next thing that we’re going to be obsessed and propagandized with. Ridiculous.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer couple months ago after her 63rd bday. Still young and beautiful. This song and many great others I grew up listening to with CJ92, Calgary, AB, all my life, thx to dad. Every classic/rock or alternative song from CJ92 reminds me of her and always will til my dying day. It's a matter of time for her and this will be my first real loss, so close so scary so sad. She's the strongest women I know bc anyone!! would have kicked it years ago. She lived the rez life standing guard for our ppl. Standing and speaking on our behalf, to maintain our way of life; love kindness respect strength. A true warrior, like our ancestors. Omg when it's her time, this is the type that'll get me through. Fucking real!! Nitsitapii (real ppl) I love my mommy. Thank You Creator!!!❤ Blessings to whoever reads this. Keep faith and prayer, bc it saves!! What u pray now will save you then and in the end.

they're not more powerful than Jesus, who is God. U2 outwore their time a long time ago. Like a-ha, Norway's awesome pop/rock band, who knew when to stop, U2 has swelled heads and think they have to keep making so called music when really all it is is achtung baby, pop, all you can't leave behind, atomic bomb, etc rehashed over and over and over again- U2's long since gone as far as they could, but instead of bowing out gracefully like a-ha, bono and all his political shit-basically HE IS the band.............they want to be assholes, and 'TRY' and make music when there is none for them to make. its really so sad, pitiful, disgusting, they are -they shouldn't even be a 'they' they thoroughly disgust me to the utmost, bono and his ego save the world bullshit especially, bono is a fuckin prick-cant stand him, if I saw him in person id wanna punch his face repeatedly, but that's not something a born again believer in Jesus as myself does, or I should say, should do. I don't even recognize them as a 'band' anymore, just four assholes trying to 'push the envelope' U2 stopped after rattle and hum.........I used to be a huge U2 fan since 1983 onward, but watched them disintegrate over the years and lie to their true fans and the public-and themselves by doing what they said they'd never do-compromise. U2 is washed up, washed out, sold out-sell outs-not even the same 'band' people anymore-in a bad way. I used to think watching all those interviews with that asshole bono practically self proclaiming himself as Mr U2, the voice of U2, I used to think that's just the way he was, but since I realized that no, this guy has ALWAYS been a fuckin asshole, probably in his childhood years too, probably a bully, no tellin what kinda shit he gave other kids and people when he was younger, but he must've been a major prick...........I'm embarrassed of U2, especially bono, and even more disgusted by their fake generic fan base who jumped on their bandwagon, and act like they know something about them. they know jack shit. I was there. Im 47, I grew up with this band, lived and breathed them for years, through school - all of it. U2 went from incredible to a shithole, and now all their wannabe little shits fans think they're the best thing since sliced bread. U2 is a joke, there is no more U2, they're has beens...........im sick of talking about them or thinking of them...........Only Jesus can save them..............
@JohnDoe-hf6tk
@JohnDoe-hf6tk 10 жыл бұрын
throwing money at problems solves nothing. you can work til your hands bleed-means nothing. Only if God saves someone into Jesus by becoming born again is worth anything. Spiritual change in the heart is what's needed alone, COUPLED with medical attention, food, water, clothing shelter etc. but doing these things alone without sharing Jesus-preaching the gospel, is futile. All humanitarians do is give a man a fish-feeds him for a day-those who give them Jesus feed them for eternity and Jesus teaches them-takes it from there.

John Doe There are many religions one can belive in, but assuming you are catholic I'll just say that you just wrote a comment that implies that you are "superior" from the rest of the people.That way of thinking is against your religion. I guess you have soms self-judgement to make, so I suggest you stop judging other people and look at yourself. As for these people, yo udon't know what they might know or what they do depending to their religion, and a youtube comment can't prove anything.

I think that this song is to apreciate how everyone is. And i'm black myself and i really do not care, our color can't say anything about us. "We can't fall any further , if we can't feel ordinary love" everyone should be accepted how he or she is. Thats the good thing to do. And i'm so so happy that i can just walk over street showing my self and telling my self and knowing that i'm accepted, there will always be a group wo whil hate "the unnormal people" but just keep in mind that you are who you are. And i'm right now in 6th grade and i'm 11 years old. And even a small child like me understands that rasism isn't the right thing to do. Not just only for black people, but also the fact that the people who are gay can't be loved and thats just crazy. I just wanted to say be happy and be you. And peole do and will love you for yourself. 💗 Because you are worth it.

I got this right my brother/sister despite your age. You see the world as it is and how it should be and this is a good sign of your character and what makes you tic. No matter how perfect or imperfect you are or will be, like you said there will always be haters and narrow minded people who will judge and "crucify" what they don`t understand. There is nothing wrong with black people, white, red or yellow. Underneath that thin layer of skin we are all the same. Always stay true to your beliefs, try to be as nice as you can to everyone but without humiliating yourself and constantly try to make this world a better place with your actions. Stay faithful to good music as well :). Peace!

I love all the world...I'm saddened and disappointed constantly by it, even sometimes by myself but I have a genuine love, care and compassion for the world...I pray for the evil to return to the light, I pray in hopes of finding the strength to rise above and help the world with the experience and ideas I've learned throughout life. Why is it so hard for us to just respect and love each other?! When will this madness stop?! Sometimes I question why I feel the way I feel, sometimes I doubt the faith of mankind...But with the recent deaths of both a humanitarian/actor Paul Walker and of course of Mandela, I think it's time for us to rise together, united, and end the violence, the hate, the condemnation and the judgment. We can't live like this anymore...Enough is enough...(And, yes U2 has played quite the part in inspiring me and keeping me lifted to see that my message is delivered).
