Vikram Shankar Music Finally I find someone who gets the spirit of the way things are. There's no competition. All the songs chosen to this show, talked about humanity, respect, dignity, unity, oneness... Bad things happen all over the world over competitiveness and ego who leads us nowehere but into misery. So, as Springsteen said: Let's have some fun with it (music). That's the spirit. Nothing else matters when they're onstage. ⭐

Bono wrote this about INXS's frontman, Michael Hutchence. You know, he was having problems with Bob Geldoff and Paula Yates. Bono and Hutchence had been friends for years. They had discussed suicide and both agreed it was stupid. They promissed themselves to never give up... The rest, is what people know. It's amazing how music can lift us up. It does work for everybody. I'm happy it did for you.

I love Mick's sloppy performance, struggling with the lyrics, but still giving his own touch to the song, from going to the front of the stage by himself to sing the final chorus, to stepping back during The Edge's final sequence. And the final duet "it's just a moment, this time shall pass" was beautiful. One of the best combinations I've ever seen.

I'm not afraid of anything in this world There's nothing you can throw at me That I haven't already heard I'm just trying to find a decent melody A song that I can sing in my own company I never thought you were a fool But darling, look at you You gotta stand up straight, carry your own weight These tears are going nowhere, baby You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment And now you can't get out of it Don't say that later will be better Now you're stuck in a moment And you can't get out of it I will not forsake, the colors that you bring But the nights you filled with fireworks, they They left you with nothing I am still enchanted by the light you brought to me I listen through your ears And through your eyes I can see And you are such a fool To worry like you do, oh oh I know it's tough And you can never get enough Of what you don't really need now, my oh my You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment And now you can't get out of it Oh love, look at you now You've got yourself stuck in a moment And now you can't get out of it I was unconscious, half asleep The water is warm till you discover how deep I wasn't jumping, for me it was a fall It's a long way down to nothing at all You've got to get yourself together You've got stuck in a moment And now you can't get out of it Don't say that later will be better Now you're stuck in a moment And you can't get out of it And if the night runs over And if the day won't last And if our way should falter Along the stony pass And if, and if the night runs over And if the day won't last And if your way should falter Along the stony pass It's just a moment, this time will pass

Mick Jagger and his 16 year-old daughter, Elizabeth, came to their Dublin studio and sang backup on this. U2 decided to go another direction with the song and did not use their tracks. The band sent Jagger a copy of his version of this, and thanked him and his daughter in the album's liner notes.

Thanks for uploading this wonderful performance. I've seen U2 and The Rolling Stones in two concerts in person. Both of them were fabulous! I highly recommend watching both of these bands in person. Anyways, I've been thinking about this song, "Stuck in a Moment" today. There have been times, including this week, even today, where I feel like I've been stuck in a moment that I can't get out of. I also have noticed that there are some other people today & this week who have been stuck for years, weeks, months, or days being in a very deep funk, sadness, anger, hurt, pain, etc. from what other people have done to deeply hurt them AND also with them being so hard on themselves each day & week they live. The two songs I've been thinking about lyric-wise today are this "Stuck in a Moment" song by U2 and "Don't Be So Hard On Yourself" by Jess Glynne. For anyone going through a hard, difficult time right now - listen to these two songs. I'm also thinking about Michael Hutchence of INXS, and this song was written for him after Michael Hutchence tragically died at a young age. Michael Hutchence is truly missed. If you KNOW people who are going through some deep sadness, hurt, pain, or whatever, friends & people should make some time to reach out, be empathetic, compassionate, patient, be a kind listening ear, & communicate so that more people in this world aren't stuck for what seems like forever in a moment they feel they can't get out of. Anyways, Mick Jagger & U2 were awesome in this performance. To me, having Mick & Bono sing back & forth with & to each other is kind of like how it should be like when a good friend is trying their best to help their friends get out of the deep sadness, hurt, pain, depression, or funk they are in, & telling them to hang in there and stay alive because they care about them. That's what true friendship is all about. Thanks for sharing, and have a nice week!

One of my favorite things about music(and sports) is that regardless of how successful and huge an artist/band is, they instantly revert to a childhood form when they see one of their heroes or “idols“. When this was recorded, U2 had been as massive as any band not named The Beatles for a couple decades. But as soon as Mick Jagger stepped on stage with them, they totally fanboyed over him. I just absolutely love that raw innocence.
