According tot he notes in the dvd box set of this show, that's exactly what happened. Before the set, Bono told Bruce "look, I'm going to start rapping here, feel free to step in." Once on stage, well, you can see what happened. It's the kind of thing that could have only happened on a night like that night.

I am 59 yrs old on Hospice Care and praying for my Father in Heaven to let me make it to USP Lewisburg Pa. to see my Son a nonviolent herion addict who got NARCAN for the guy with him and didn’t let him did. Small hick Al town gave him 12 yrs in Fed. I go in a couple of weeks it’s been 6 years. I’m on Al Gulf Coast he is in Pa. I miss him. Please say a prayer that I make it🙏🌻

I’ve been a U2 fan since Unforgettable Fire. I feel like I’ve grown up with these guys. I’m not as big of a fan of Bruce Springsteen. Don’t get me wrong, I like some of his stuff. I’ve just never been into it heavily. One of my biggest pet peeve‘s with music is when someone vocally covers a song and people Who happened to be fans of the person covering it say “I like the way they sang it better”. Of course you do if you’re a fan of that person. Having said that… I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I actually prefer Bruce‘s vocal on this song. The grain of it and pure emotion coming from his gut that no one can do better than him is absolutely perfect for this song both thematically and musically. It gives me goosebumps honestly.
