I love this tune! When he talks at the beginning, I think it's something like this (i think!): "What can I give back to God, for the blessing he poured out of me?" *Repeats.* "By the tide, cut the salvation.. There is a toast to our father." "For the feel of a promise that was made to me, it's in my heart..." Quite poignant, seeming as his father passed away a few days before this concert.

I will always remember when I saw them for the very first time, it was on this tour, with one of my best friends - she was the one who got me into U2 - and when they played this song all the lights went on at the intro and everyone was standing up and cheering and she looked around at all the people and turned around and hugged me :) Such a perfect moment :)

i was not a huge u2 fan until i saw this performance. i was up late watching tv back in 2001 and this concert was being shown on some cable channel. of course i had heard this song a million times back in the 80's but something stirred in me when i say this particular performance. maybe it was Edge's guitar building up to the opening or the amazing lighting design or bono running around that heart..i dont know, but i fell in love that night and have been in love ever since.
