I checked my ATCS and I saw a train heading towards Waxhaw so I went out to Mineral Springs to wait for it. Mineral Springs isn't far from Waxhaw and is about halfway from Monroe.
After the coal train went through, I headed up to Monroe and actually caught up to the train. I caught it at the North end of the yard. I had just missed the leading locomotives. The coal train was going slower because the train ahead of him went into emergency. I don't know why. The coal train (U307-27) had to go at a restricted speed.
After the coal train passed and the gates went up, I looked into the yard and noticed the end of a train on the siding leading into the yard. That train was Q699. I have videos of it that will be uploaded soon.
You might also notice the RR crossing sign says that there are three tracks. The third track led to an industry that is now gone. So is the track. The only reminder that it was there other than the sign is a piece of rail laying in the weeds.
