I love mine, other reverbs have more sounds but when you just want the best of the classic reverbs this is it. Super easy to dial in and use.

Great demo man. I sold my RV6 to help pay down my Golden Reverberator. The simplicity of the UA as well as the stereo field on it is just amazing. I loved my rv6 but to me the UA just has this amazing sound quality that is inspiring.

I compared the Golden Reverberator to my Joyo Atmosphere pedal which I thought sounded, surprisingly good, even next to the Golden Reverberator. But when I tried to actually play something, the UAFX pedal was much more inspiring. -Could be in my head I know, but that was my experience.

IMO the UA Golden Reverberator is leaps and bounds better than the RV6 and well worth the extra dough. The RV6 tails sound so digital when you listen close with a good set of cans. My second choice would be the Strymon Flint but I think the UA Golden even tops that for quality. Great review!
@BrySquatch Жыл бұрын
I currently own both of these and can’t still decide which I like more 😅 the Golden sounds incredibly articulate and hi-fi, and often very beautiful but to my ear lacks a bit of warmth. The RV-6 is not nearly as “realistic” sounding, but just feels warmer and rounder and a little more inviting, and some settings just sound more pleasant to me (the hall setting in particular I love). I bought the Golden thinking it would be a straightforward upgrade, but it wasn’t that simple. They both sound great for different things and it just depends more on your needs/tastes. Great video btw! Really nice comparison of two fantastic pedals.

I really like mine. I have other pedals but if you just want a good classic tone with a classic reverb this is it. The plate reverb really sounds like a high end retro studio reverb.

It has THE BEST spring emulation out there, no contest. Also a sick Lexicon 224 sound. If you compare it to what those two will cost you if you get the real things, it's very cheap.

I am loving my Golden Reverberator! I do think I still haven't perhaps found '1' pedal that meets all of my reverb needs though. But this covers a LOT. I find that it sits in the mix with your tone much better than most I've tried. With the Starlight, it's a killer combo!

I bought all three of UA pedals and for what i play they are awesome because they aren’t complicated to operate and they all sound the way they were intended to but that doesn’t mean they are going to be for every one so there are plenty of other pedals and if you go looking you will find the one that’s right for you

@Iskaral_Pust Жыл бұрын
The difficult thing with these demos is so much is about feel. Sound matters way more if all you're doing is recording and you're only concerned with the best possible tone. But I'd wager most of us are also just fanatics who slave away fiddling in our bedrooms and basements and to that end, the feel element cannot possibly be understated.

Matthew... How does the Spring Reverb setting sound with higher gain overdrives? Does it sit in the mix well? Or does it get too "saucy" and washy? How do palm mutes feel? I currently use the Spring setting on my MXR M300 Reverb (which is a great reverb, and the Spring plays BEAUTIFULLY with high gain amps/ higher overdrive) and the palm muting retains crisp clarity with the MXR M300.. how does the Reverberator hold up? I've been thinking of trying the Spring on it.. but not sure if it would work with higher gain. Any input helps! Thanks!
@MattKellyMusic2 жыл бұрын
So the spring sounds very natural and still is one of my favorite spring sounds from a pedal. You have a lot to work with and you can you have different options for different types of spring! I do put it through the FX loop because through my high gain amp, it can get washy. But if you use pedals for your gain or if you use an fx loop, You shouldn’t have any problems! Hope it helps man!

@@MattKellyMusic Thanks for the reply, Matthew! I use a 1993 Bogner Ecstasy 101B amp going through a UberKab 4x12. It is defnitely a high gain amp, but I get a GREAT clean out of it with some effects I use. I love the M300 Spring Reverb option on the MXR I currently have.. but I have noticed some external Spring Reverbs (pedals, outboard) sounds REALLY strange with high gain and does not always play well. The M300 has been one of the FEW I've ever used that played well with my type of amplifier. The only thing I'm missing really is just more drippiness, which the MXR doesn't really have. With that said, I saw your review and was interested by the Spring option on this Reverberator. Do you still have this Reverb? Can it be hooked up stereo? Thanks again!

@@rmoraatd1 you get that dripyness with this pedal. Yes, I still use it. It’s my go to reverb pedal and it’s always on! It’s also stereo! So you can get those lush reverbs to sound much bigger!
