The Under Armour Project Rock 6 is the sixth iteration to debut in The Rock's popular training shoe line.
In general, the UA Project Rock training shoe line tends to be a pretty polarizing cross-training shoe line. Some lifters love the heavier feel of the Project Rock shoes while others think they're too bulky.
I liked the UA Project Rock 5 for the most part so I was curious to see how the updated Project Rock 6 would perform in the gym.

Overall, I like the UA Project Rock 6 and think it's one of the better-feeling Project Rock shoes on foot.
Is this training shoe going to be the best for minimalist lovers, CrossFit, and heavy lifting? Not necessarily.
However, if you go into this shoe recognizing that and you just want a model for lifting and casual cross-training, then these can fit the bill.

Bought my first pair for regular wear. Love them. Bought the first pair predominantly for an athletic shoe that I could also wear casually. They’re so comfortable I ended up buying another pair specifically for working out. I had a severe edema in my heel over a year ago and this was the first shoe to not cause a flair up with all day wear or during a workout sesh. Love these shoes!

I picked some up for $135 and my lord these are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn and I usually run wide on shoes/boots. I’m very happy with the construction and quality and am very picky with footwear. Never thought I’d get a pair but glad I did

The design team FINALLY put the brama bull back on the side of the shoe(unlike the 4) and it’s big enough to see. These are on sale at Dick’s sporting goods for $65 for certain colorways.

Hi, Jake! Planning to buy these but just curious whether it'll fit for a treadmill walk after my training sesh. I do my incline treadmill walk for about 20 - 30 mins 4 days per week so, wish to know if I can hop in with the same without changing to a running shoe. Have you tried them on for a walk yourself? i really like the PR line actually. I'm a bit more flat-footed and needed more cushion or my feet will feel like it's on fire whenever I work out. To date, I still prefer PR2 and PR3s. DIdn't like the 4s and 5s but the 6, when I tried them felt closer to the 3s. But you're right, it is a costly pair of shoes :(

Keep in mind that PR 6 vs Rom 4 is a very diff shoe type. Training shoe vs weightlifting shoes so they'll be very different regarding their performance/construction. Rom 4 won't be a shoe that you can use for versatility and cross-training, for example.

Thanks for the review. I've been contemplating getting these shoes. I currently use the metcon 7s. I'm more of a powerbuilder athlete and occasionally do athletic plyometric workouts. Do you recommend this shoe for squatting and deadlifting over 400 pounds? Is the heel more plush or firm?

Eh, it's okay and would be firm enough for your needs, but are open to other models? I'm keen to see if you like the Born Primitive Savage 1 or Reebok Nano 2.0. Both are wider with more density for lifting!

@thatfitfriend they're pretty good. I'm a week in using them. And I've done pretty much all the exercises wearing it. I'm a pretty big guy 6'0 230 lbs and I found these very comfortable to wear. And I don't need to switch from my metcons to runners to do LISS which is quite convenient. I was sold when you did the review on the metcon free 5s.

I am trying to find a comfortable pretty much an all day type of shoe but I can use for training and stuff like that I’m not relief fit or anything like that. I got them yesterday and idk why they make my feet hurt. The shoe is tight in the front and the back of my ankle keeps rising out despite them being the right size as the other UA shoes I had since last year. I'm not a fit fiend or anything, just wanted good new shoes to last long. These kinds hurt. Will they open up in the front and adjust eventually or did I spend in futility?

Ehhh, I’d swap em for something else if they’re bothering you that much! They may just have a last (mold) that doesn’t align with your foot anatomy

To an extent, but it's not as noticeable in this model due to its lower toe spring, IMO!
