Thanks for checking out the video! Do you like the sound of the Lion? And are you interested in products like this?
@djjazzyjeff12327 ай бұрын
I love that you don't need to switch channels for a clean sound, just volume down on guitar. The first Emulator I've ever seen get that part right.
@JordanSteele7 ай бұрын
Yes! That’s definitely an important ability for a modeler to have and probably for me the most important. Some sound great but don’t react to the dynamics of the hands and volume controls correctly as an amp would. This one certainly does and I would say it does it in a very similar way that an actual amp.

Sounds like a vintage Plexi but controllable. I've own a few back in the day. Good purchase.

Yeah it’s a pretty cool pedal! Definitely gets some of those old Marshall tones 🤘

Did you ever tried Bluguitar Amp1? It has nanotube inside?
@JordanSteele10 ай бұрын
I have not yet tried one of those. That would definitely be cool to try out in the future. I’ve seen some videos and they seem really cool

100% the FM3 has tons of great Marshall sounds in it

Please can you make comparison with BluGuitar Amp1 🙏🙏🙏 I cannot decide between two… I think Amp1 is more versatile and I could use it with my real guitar cab.

So, which one you like more? Friedman IR-X or Lion?
@JordanSteele10 ай бұрын
That will be fully tested in a future video but at the moment I’m leaning in the direction of the IR-X

@@JordanSteele please try the Victory V4 preamp pedals they are all tube
@JordanSteele10 ай бұрын
I actually had the victory v4 sheriff for a while until the IR-X came out. Unfortunately I never made a video with it. I liked it but there were a few things tonally I didn’t get along with. And in my personal opinion to tone you can get from the Lion or IR-X is better and they are cheaper and more portable

@@JordanSteele thanks for the response brother I think im going to try the Lion and the IR-X
@ericfarrell162510 ай бұрын
I tried both but through the effects return of my Friedman Dirty Shirley Mini. They both sound great. I think the lion is a more vintage sound vs the slightly more modern irx. The problem with lion though was that it had a compression to it that made it sound more polished, almost like it was already mixed. The IRX had a more raw/ uncompressed sound and weight on the note. If you let a power chord ring out, the irx has a more natural decay of the harmonic’s. I kept the IRX for my use case.

"this bass knob does nothing" damn they really emulated a plexi accurately huh
@JordanSteele10 ай бұрын
😂 is that a comin thing on old plexi’s?
@TCMx310 ай бұрын
@@JordanSteele yeah lmao. I mean, they don't do NOTHING nothing, but it's pretty different than say, an old Fender or a Mesa

@TCMx3 gotcha. I think the bass was doing something but definitely very very subtle

Just found you! Vety cool man.. Love that LP. Im a huge fan of LPs and Strats which is what I grew up playing as well as Tube amps, and that soounds just like a plexi. Ive been watching reviews on here because I need a pedal board solutuon for live gigs and recording and home practice. Im 62 and just retired and it gives me much pleasure. Where I play or will play thohgh requires no stage volume or very little and so amps like I used to use cranked very loud are oht of the questuon.. This is good, but if I had one wish it woukd be that they should have put a headphone out jack for silent practice. I have beard others say it sih ds and feels like a tube amp, wnd feel is impoetant to me or I would just buy any old moddeler. I play mostly bluesy hard rock so I will be using the brown sound mostly wuth the boost and use my volume knob om my guitar like we used to do in the old days. That feel of an amp is important and its killer you can get that and it soumds like an amp amd respomds like an amp with the eq controls and by digging in hard or just playing soft. . Great playing brother.. I will subscribe ! Be well and safe and regards from South Central Indiana. USA. Tim..❤

I really dig your videos, besides your phenomenal playing, when you test new gear. I’m so stuck in the 80’s with too many tube amps, but digging the latest in these modeling pedals. I’d like to step into the modern age, but have no idea what that involves. Could you maybe do a video of how you run your sound and what hardware, software is needed. All I have at the moment is a MacBook Pro lol. I also have the Friedman I-RX, thanks to you lol, and a couple TC electronics amp works that I use with headphones. The I-RX sounds awful through headphones 😖 Thanks and keep the great vids coming 👍🏻

Thanks a lot! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos. I’ll definitely make a video covering my setup in the future. If you wanna step deeper into the “digital world” and have it be enjoyable and fun. You have a great computer already. I would recommend an Audient evo 4 interface and connect your ir-x into that and run through GarageBand on your computer. That will give you the ability to add nice delays and reverbs as well. I think the interface is around $130. Pluging your headphones into that will sound better right away and eventually you could get a pair of studio monitors. That’s pretty much my setup
