This may be a configuration error on the post-processing in or just a quirk of the ox stomp, but in some of the stereo modes, I hear the main bulk of the sound in left, and the "room" sound in right. And sometimes it's flipped, but rarely traditional stereo hard pan sounding.
@CorbCorbin Жыл бұрын
That app should have panning however one wants. Wet/Dry too. It’s likely they ran Pete’s pedal on one side or something, during that part of the video, or he just moved the pan to the left a bit, so the stereo was easily heard. That’s just one thing I could think would be possible.

Digital John ( who we know is more than that) is one of my favorite presenters on the tube because he plays music. Not just the shreddie shred. The Captain and the gang all rock of course. That’s what makes this channel the stuff because Ben, John, Pete and Lee all play music not just solos. If you know what I mean.
@stoneysdead689 Жыл бұрын
You do realize why ppl do this- right? It's called a copywrite strike- which is why even when John does it, he will only play a very short section or- he will purposely change it in some way. Most channels though have learned that it's much, much easier and safer to just noodle and not run the risk of a copywrite strike. You only get so many and then - they shut your channel down.

Guys- if a piece of gear has tons of options- you guys are like "This thing is amazing, it has tons of options..." if its simple you guys are like "This thing is amazing, it gets rid of all the options and makes it simple." I will be the first to admit that when I buy a pack of IRs- generally from York Audio- they come with like 300 or so IRs- which is intimidating. I mean are you supposed to sit there and cycle through all 300? If you did, could you really remember what number 36 sounded like by the time you're on number125? Of course you couldn't- so it's kind of pointless to think you're going to compare them all in any realistic sense. What I do is pull up the first one- set my amp and so forth accordingly- to make it sound as good as possible- then start cycling through the IRs just for that particular mic- which is usually about 20 or so IRs. Once I find the ones I like- I put them in a separate folder named after that mic. When you get done you have 1-3 IRs form each mic that you liked the most put in a separate folder- and from then on you have a much more manageable list of options to deal with.

Every time I hear this pedal being demoed, the tones are to die for. Not sure how much to attribute that to the OX Stomp or the amp sim that's being used.
@Timm4y Жыл бұрын
I have one. It sounds awesome, but there's two big gripes for me: 1. The app is kinda meh to work with - moving the sliders with the fingers isnt ideal and loading screens can be a bit slow. This pedal would benefit massively from a desktop app! Please! 2. Worse than that is the horrible Bluetooth connection - more often than not it just doesn't connect to either of my phones, and there's a lot of people having this problem. Hopefully they'll fix it soon, because it's such a bummer for a great product!

Would it be better with Poweramp sim or Poweramp Pedal with DI out into the ox stomp? Two notes or Mooer Radar have the power amp sim , i wonder if its a Big of a Plus for the situation that we just have only a Preamp Pedal .

would love a video of this, lets say paired up with a valeton for instance. Could potentially take the Valeton from very good to INCREDIBLY freaking outstanding.

I've run an Iridium, a NUX MG-30, and a Joyo Oxford Sound (Orange) into this pedal. The Joyo was extremely fun to play and I got a wide range of great tones out of it. The Iridium sounded great too. A little more nuanced. The NUX was a little more challenging, but I just didn't spend enough time with it. I'm looking forward to trying even more preamp pedals too. I will say the UA pedal could connect to the app more relaliably.
@stoneysdead689 Жыл бұрын
LOL- I misread this and thought you said it could connect to the "amp" more reliably- I was really confused until I figured out my mistake. Yeah- this is the problem with apps- and the reason I refuse to buy gear that relies on an app to make changes or have full functionality. If I can't make it do everything it does without an app or connecting to a computer- I don't want it.
@HewittH Жыл бұрын
@@stoneysdead689 yeah, I get that about not wanting to need an app. I've been going back and forth between wanting an all-in-one modeler and separate pedals. Pedals won out because I want knobs, buttons, and sliders for every function. But then this pedal came out and I caved a little. You can live with what can be tweaked from the face of it, or you can set it up once with the app and live with your choices, or you can go in every time you need any little thing. I'm hoping to go for that second option.
@stoneysdead689 Жыл бұрын
@@HewittH I hear you- I've made a few compromises myself and bought a Headrush MX5 modeler and powered cab- I have to admit, after years of swearing I would never go digital- I would never go back now. The Headrush doesn't use an app or anything to just use it- but if you want to add third party IRs and new rigs and stuff- which make it sound light years better- you have to connect it to your pc. That said- so far, each time I've connected it and powered it up- it pops up like a drive and there's no issues- very easy to use. The modeler itself uses a touch screen, drag and drop interface which only took me a day or so to figure out- very intuitive. It's surprised me how easy and well it's all worked- knock on wood. Once I figured out how to use IRs and got some good ones- it sounds twice as good as when I first got it.

I am kind of confused about whether I "need" this. I have a numerous different set ups, and one of those set ups is running the UA dream for my live rig to run direct. If I am running the dream, an am relatively happy with my sound, would there be a need or benefit to run the OX + the Dream? What would that be? My assumption is the dream already has certain cab options, not sure why the ox would be needed, but maybe im missing something. Thanks!
@seheydt Жыл бұрын
The interesting part of adding the ox stomp after the dream in your example is that the OX stomp has other cabinets and mics that might pique your interest and it also has the added bonus of having some effects in it like delay, reverb etc. I’m exploring right now myself.
@JoshBattershell Жыл бұрын
You can use the OX stomp to effectively add an FX Loop too. Turn the cab sim off on the dream, put your FX loop pedals, then the ox stomp

What am I missing here? So, Guitar -> Preamp -> Stomp (IR cab sim) -> Valve Amp -> Speakers --- Am I mistaken? If no, then why would you do that? If yes, then what's going on?

It's an amp booth and recording chain in a pedal. You need an amp tone to put in it, and then it will give you speaker cabinet, room sounds, microphones, EQ, compressor, chorus/delay and reverb.
