@@iscariom to become licensed you need a BS. But to be a survey crew chief, CAD tech, project manager, etc. you don’t need a degree. You could get on a company as an “Iman” (basically an assistant to the crew chief) and learn from the ground up. Most surveyors don’t have degrees. Experience is king. I’m going to school part time now though. Great career.

How long does it take to become a land surveyer and is there an online course I can take this? Thanks buddy!

Hi Adam, I am sharing your video with 37 elementary schools students; your information is informative and quick to the point. Afterwards, they will take the TRUST certificate with Pilot Institute (Greg) and continue learning to fly recreational until they reach the proper age to move forward with a 107. Dronist!

AI is not a threat to drone pilots in the short term as the FAA will push to keep drones under human control for the foreseeable future. The FAA moves very, very slowly on all regulation changes. The regs currently mandate a human operator, and that will not change any time soon.

Hey! Your Drone Mapping link on the top right of the screen doesn't go to your Drone Mapping video, it just scrolls down to reference the same chapter of the video where you mention it.
@uavcoach4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the callout - I just checked it and it looks like the links are all the way at the bottom of the description (right underneath the chapters). See if you can find them there!

The reason AI wont become a replacement for drone pilots in the next 5+ years.. is cost. Period. The cost to run AI to do things is expensive. As AI use scales (e.g. more and more users, devices, etc using it) that cost is being paid by someone, somewhere. It's amazing to me for example that we can freely use Google Gemini and ChatGPT 3.5/4.. the cost to run those queries * millions of people doing so every day has got to be in the 10s or 100s of millions.. for our free use. The GPUs, power consumption, cooling.. all of that is expensive. I am sure as computers get even faster/smaller, we'll see more and more AI able to run on phones and laptops (as software apps), but I still think that is years if not decade+ away before not needing the cloud to do AI is a thing. Even so, the vast amounts of data AI relies on wont be on local devices so there is still a crap ton of dependence on cloud based AI models, processing, etc. HOWEVER.. I will add that AI to do piloting isn't the same as general AI like ChatGPT. It clearly doesn't need anywhere near the processing power and data. But when you compare car auto pilots.. they use multiple computers, lots of memory, etc.. to "see" and process that info. So I still think drones that can fly simply by saying "Hey.. give me 25 shots of different heights and angles of this house, then do a video with an orbit and another with an orbit as you pull away, then some close ups in the video of the pool, the door, the yard.." is a long ways off.. so at least to me, the next 10 or so years drone pilots will be a growing industry until enough AI model/data is amassed and processed for small consumer grade (e.g. mini 4 pro, Air 3, etc) are able to tap into that.

Get a legit certification from a technical college and apply to some private military contractors. Only plausible if you have 4+ years of honorable military service. But they would provide you everything for the job if you get it
