Dean Alpha I agree, their cover of it is easily the best cover imho. AND, one of those covers that is as good, or better, than the original by Sonny&Cher. Funny, I used to watch them (Sonny&Cher variety show) on TV as a kid in the 70’s, and LOVED when they sang this song. But, UB40(or whomever idea it was), was a genius move to have Ali duet with Chrissie.

Exactly and besides it's not as if Chrissie is some kind of iconic figure to him, The Pretenders first world tour was as a support act to UB40, they are really good friends and have a lot of mutual respect between them, they don't 'look up' to one another in any way at all and Chrissie is in no way stuck up enough to care about a mate chewing gum whilst they have fun performing together, I am a huge fan of Chrissie and The Pretenders, I have always liked UB40 but I am more into The Pretenders and I just think it's great that UB40 took them on tour and gave them that worldwide exposure, they always worked so well together too, amazing chemistry, finally he is just chewing gum, he's not spitting at the audience, nothing bad about that at all.
