Can I just say thanks to whoever put the footage up of the last time the original band members were on stage together the fans at the concert must have had a great time singing and dancing along to the music fricking brilliant sadly now in 2022 astro and Brian Travers have both passed away rip to you both can I just say I don't think anyone who was there would have been thinking about what was going on in there personal lives or Ali never looked at anyone what the Frick when you go to a concert you go to enjoy your self not worry about things that doesn't concern anyone but the band members so get a life and enjoy the music
@jackiesmith36844 ай бұрын
Seeing UB40 original band members in happier times fricking brilliant but got to say 2024 the voice of UB40 Ali Campbell and Mickey virtue left because of the management and robin Campbell I think it's about time that you started to concentrate on your own career and band members instead of having a pop at Ali Campbell every chance you Norman earl and Jimmy brown get a chance especially as 2 of the band members are sadly no longer with us as in the legend astro rip and Brian Travers rip and by the way none of you have halo's above your heads but the point scoring needs to stop and remember Ali Campbell was lead vocalist from the start and you were supposed to be the secondary vocalist but even now in 2024 we don't hear much of your vocals which is sad because when I first saw UB40 original band members in my hometown of Edinburgh you could hear your vocals and your son needs to keep out of it slagging off Ali Campbell because he wasn't even born when you first started out and yous owe a lot to Chrissie Hyde and the pretenders for taking yous on tour with her which really got yous all noticed and to all the idiots saying that Ali Campbell and Mickey virtue don't speak crap Mickey virtue is a private person and that's why he has never gave any interviews to anyone big love Ali Campbell rip astro and Brian Travers xxx

I wish they will sing together for the last time, Sir Ali, go back to the real UB40 and your brother Robin, because life is short. You should build a moment that will never forget. RIP Sir Brian Travers and Sir Astro.

Ali won't do that and I don't think they would want him back after splitting a band and family up so he could promote his running free album
@bexuk18253 ай бұрын
I agree, as a fan for 40 years, I'm 46 now, I totally appreciate and understand a lot of hurt, mistrust, upset, and more. But life is SO short, even if it's for 1 time only, they should ALL put aside their differences (I know there's a lot, especially with drawn out legal battles, and snide remarks & personal put downs etc) and UNITE, before any more OG members pass on (sorry to be morbid). It's extremely sad, especially as they were all so close, sad for Ali & Robin too, it's family. I obviously don't want to make assumptions, and as i said there are a lot of issues, and were numerous issues before the split. But in my opinion (I may upset people with this next comment) even with missing money, disagreements, dodgy managers & other problems, I think if Ali had stayed single & not re-married, he may have stayed grounded (not blaming UB40 split solely on Julie, just hinting, Ali's behaviour & outlook changed a little, was it gentle persuasion, manipulation, isolation or coincidence?) Anyway, regardless of my essay, and my opinion, I love Ali, Astro, and UB40. Nothing beats Ali's voice, he IS UB40, as are the original members, each in their own way,to become one, and complete the band. Come on #UB40 re-unite for a 1 off anniversary gig !!!!!!! PLEASE #UB40Reunite2024 #UB40 Take The Higher Ground, Don't Break My Heart and Please Don't Make Me Cry. Bring Me Your Cup Full Of Red Red Wine accompanied By Breakfast In Bed. Its an Impossible Love, I am a One In Ten, Who Can't Help Falling In Love With UB40. Maybe Tomorrow You'll All Reunite In Kingston Town. It's Food For Thought. Instead of saying Where did I go Wrong, let's Sing Our Own Song, and I guarantee you, ALL the fans Will Stick by you. Tears from my eyes are falling, I'm Just Another Girl, A Homely Girl, waiting for her favourite band to get the Rat in Mi kitchen out, then we can continue Groovin all together, I know there will be Many Rivers to cross, but Until My Dying Day, I'll be a UB40 Fan waiting for a Reunion, before We Kiss and Say Goodbye. The Way You Do the Things You Do, is King. Signing Off for now, love from Sweet Cherrie, and your fans ***Hope you liked my little "play on words" using song titles.

Was it with the new singer Matt Doyle ? Then I agree the real UB40 that ali left for his solo album is as big as ever and UB40 didn't split or end they just lost their lead singer but carried on and then later on Ali wasn't doing well as just Ali Campbell so started calling himself UB40 and tells alot of lies like Micky virtue retiring from his band when in fact he's working with other artists Brian is right he is a pathological liar

I beg to differ, I fell in love with the combination of the reggae music and Ali's voice, anyone who's talented can replicate the music, but you can't replicate a voice, no matter how hard Duncan tries, he'll never fit Ali's shoes in my opinion. Hes got a bloody cheek jumping on the UB40 bandwagon anyway, he wasn't interested at the beginning, and dont get me started on the reggae/country Frankensongs 😖
