I grew up with UB40 through my parents and my older brother. The music is timeless and still makes my heart warm. I remember listening to endless runs of tapes on long vacation drives in the car, as UB40 and Bob Marley was the only music that was loved by the whole family. Thank you for all those hours that are some of my favorite memories still as an adult!

fun fact in the UK in the 70s and 80s a Government form you needed to fill out in order to receive monetory relief whilst unemployed was called: Unemployment Benefit attendance form no. 40 -hence the Bands name became UB40 Because, Previous to the Band being signed to a record label, all of the band members were unemployed, so it was suggested that the band should call themselves UB40. Their first album released was in fact called Signing Off- a clever play on words, as, if you were claiming the Dole ( unemployment benefit) you would say that "you were signing On" } And the hit record's Album Cover featured the government UB40 form as an image on its first release. An unbelievable band. Possibly the Most underrated band in the world, ever… 45 years on, 50+ top 40 chart hits, the most played band on global radio stations through the 80’s and 90’s, probably the most toured band on the planet. Still and brilliant live band with a brilliant lead singer!

I was just going to say the same thing. I love Ali Campbell and to me he and astro and Micky are ub 40 for me.❤ Taking nothing away from Mats great voice,I prefer Ali's voice and whole demeanor. I was due to see them at Wembley when it was Ali and astro but the roof blew off😢 RIP Astro you are sorely missed 🌷RIP🌷😭
